Car ride home (update 1)

After 3 hours of being on the train, we only had about 20 minutes left.

Ajax had woken up and Enid was talking to him.

One thing that had me confused was the fact that Enid's hand never left mine.

Out of the insufferable amount of things, I would skin her alive for, this isn't one of them. (At the moment)

I couldn't fathom why.

I thought about this for the rest of the ride.

The train had come to a stop.

Enid had finally let go.

The warmth in my hand disappeared and turned cold.

Just like me.

Enid's POV:

I finally let go of Wednesday's hand.

My hand now felt empty and sad like the color blue.

We started to gather our bags and get off.

Ajax took mine because he said, " Women like me shouldn't carry heavy things."

Which I thought was cute, but at the same time, thought was sexist.

I mean I'm a werewolf so I'm strong, and even if I wasn't, Men and Women can do the same things.

Right?

We finally got off the train and walked down to my mom and dad's car.

Ajax carried my bags even with my protests, and put them in the trunk of the car.

Wednesday put her suitcase in but decided to keep her small black backpack with her.

Her perfectly styled hair glimmered in the warm sunshine.

I closed the trunk and we all started to get inside the car.

My mom greeted us as we got in.

The car ride to my house was slow and quiet.

Since the silence was so awkward, I decided to break it and ask, "Where are my brothers?"

"Oh you know them; probably in the woods running around," my Mom had stated.

I nodded and stayed quiet for a bit before asking, "So... Ajax what are you planning to do this summer?"

"Hanging out with you and probably with some friends of mine."

"Cool", I said and paused for a moment.

"Are we almost home?"

"Almost."

I looked over on Wednesday.

Her flawless, smooth, skin, which has perfectly placed stars on her face; had me mesmerized.

I perhaps probably stared a bit too long.

She looked at me and raised an eyebrow.

I slightly shook my head and she went back to texting Xavier.

I knew she liked him.

Even if she didn't want to admit it.

I just knew she did.

It made me mad thinking about it, like the color red.

I couldn't understand why.

But I calmed down and tried to see what they were talking about, but to all my avail, I failed.

Wednesday stared deep into my eyes like sharp pin needles.

This was her way of telling me to mind my business.

I complied and looked away.

I started to look at Ajax who, was drowning in the millions of questions my parents were asking him.

Although my dad didn't say much.

Which he never does.

He just gives words off with vibes and energy.

Sometimes, the vibes can confuse me but that's not the most important thing right now.

Even he was asking him a question or two.

I was surprised, to say the least.

My dad was giving low-key side-eyeing Ajax.

Which was Ummm well unusual for my dad because he likes everyone.

I completely forgot about that when my mom was asked.

"Have you had se-"

I interrupted her before it could get more awkward than it already was.

"Mom!!!"

I was embarrassed and shy like the color pink.

She rolled her eyes and said, " ok, ok, I guess I'll stop."

"Thank you", I said and sighed.

The rest of the car ride was quiet.

We reached my house within a few minutes.

Let's just say my house is a bit shabby but I mean it still has a second floor and an attic.

(For the most part.)

My brothers well, kind of destroy everything in their path.

I'm sure Ajax and Wednesday wouldn't mind.

Wednesday is just well, Wednesday.

She doesn't care.

Ajax and I have made out in a dirty restaurant bathroom so I don't think he'll mind.

Even so, we'll only be staying here for a day or two before we go to a hotel.

My mom parked the car, and we all got out.

We grabbed our bags from the trunk and went inside.
