Childe POV:

open my eyes slowly, as I recall
again that I had passed out. I look
around. relieved to see that it was
Zhongli's room and not Scaramouche
who had saved me. I don't want to
owe him any debts. I try to prop
myself up but my vision blurs and I
settle instead on leaning against the
head board for support. I just sit still
and observe my surroundings,
awaiting the fate I had set out for me.
Knowing how Zhongli had saved me
and no one else received me, but also
frightened me.

I knew I had to face the fact he saw
me, Childe a harbinger of
Snezhnaya faint like a damsel in
distress...

Oh the shame...it also appears this
'illness' or whatever riddles me has
gotten alot worse than before. Come
on...think Ajax think, what illnesses
do you know with frequent fainting...

I just lay there, my mind blank as no
ideas arose about this mysterious
thing. I feel weak. I feel useless, lying
here doing nothing. I just don't have
the strength in me...

"Childe...?"

I look to the left and Zhongli starts
walking slowly towards me carrying a
tray with 2 cups filled with tea.

"Oh, hi Zhong-" but I stopped as my
eyes started to water and I abruptly
started coughing voilently.

!!

"Childe!"

Regular breathing felt like the hardest
thing to do on earth, every breath I
took was short and quick as my body
shook with every hacking cough. And
with coughs.came the blood.

Zhongli rushed towards me with a
worried expression on his face. He set
the tea tray down quickly and pulled a
small tube filled with red liquid inside
out from a cupboard.

"Here, it's medicine. I believe it will
help."

He glanced at me with a weird
expression that I couldn't read but it
vanished in an instant. I reached out
my hand to take the medicine and
drank it all.

It was bitter. So bitter I was tempted
to spit it out and go right for some
milk, but I didn't. I kept staring at
Zhongli trying to see if I can see what
he is feeling right now but to no avail.

"Sorry...Zhongli"

"Oh Childe there is no need to
apologise"

"I'm being a burden and taking up
your time right now.....sorry"

We sat in silence for a few minutes
then Zhongli got up.

"Make sure you get some rest, I will
be going out now. Also drink the tea,
it contains some medicine aswell"

He turned once more before closing
the door behind him and I was left
alone.

The bitter medicine helped get more
coughing down but it still tasted
horrible, so without drinking the tea, I
closed my eyes and began to drift into
sleep...
