Daniel's mother takes a seat next to him and takes her boy in her arms.

"Who was that, sweety?" Asks his mother and Daniel lays his head on her shoulder.

"Max his mother called me." Whispers Daniel and he feels how her hold get stronger.

"He's not spending Christmas with them . They haven't been in contact for a while. Max is thinking he ruins everything, so said he isn't going to be with them for Christmas."

"Oh poor boy." Whispers his mother.

"I think he's in an even worse place than we think he was with his head. It sounds maybe a bit selfish, but him ignoring me, we know how bad it is then. He hasn't been in contact with his family or friends for months, Mama, I was the last person he had contact with and I didn't even know." Says Daniel and stares at the wall.

"That's terrible, Daniel."

"His mother and sister are driving towards Monaco on Thursday, so that he isn't alone at Christmas. And-" Daniel sighs and snuggles closer to his mother.

"And what, sweetie?" Asks mom and Daniel looks at the wall. It's a picture from last year when he first took Max to Perth. He's wrapped in Daniel's arms and they both have the biggest smiles on their faces with Isabella and Isaac by their legs.

That was a perfect day.

"His parents had another fight. Sophie said something about going to Monaco to spend time with Max, celebrating Christmas, but also so she knows he's safe. She didn't say anything else about it, but it didn't feel good. Jos is mad after their fight, but how mad? And is he coming for Max?" Whispers Daniel.

He doesn't think he can stand another time seeing Max getting hurt. Seeing him getting choked by his father. His lips blue and gasping for air, falling on the ground when Daniel pushed Jos to the ground.

No, Daniel doesn't want to see that ever again.

"Sophie asks if I am coming to Monaco," Says Daniel.

"For Christmas?"

"Yeah."

"You need to go then, Daniel."

Daniel sits up and looks at her slightly in shock.

"What?" Asks Daniel.

His mother gives his hair a quick ruffle. And rest her hand on Daniel's cheek.

"He needs you, Daniel. Yes, it would be hard not spending Christmas with you for the first time. But Max needs you more than we do now. You need to go to your boyfriend, and I know how much you want that too ." She lays her hand from his cheek to his heart.

"You've been so sad the last few weeks. And I know that it is because you're missing him, and knowing something is not right, ruined it for you too. You can't enjoy your time here and not knowing if Max's alright. There's no way you can enjoy Christmas here when Max is there in Monaco." She says and Daniel wipes the tears from his cheeks.

"I love it here, you know that." Whispers Daniel

"Of course I know that! And I see how much you enjoy it here. But since the beginning, you've been worrying about Max, always looking at your phone. Deep down you knew that something was going to happen. That's why you were checking on him when you knew he was awake. Listen Daniel, Max needs you. You need to go home and he's in Monaco." Says mom and Daniel let out a sob.

"I need to go to him, momma." Sobs Daniel, and his mother takes him back in her arms.

"You do, sweety. He needs you." She whispers in her ears.
