The ash blond vampire let out a yawn, the bags under his eyes now more noticable. Y/n sighed and crawled up to his side of the couch, running her fingers through his hair before beginning to massage his scalp, receiving a relaxed sigh from her hotheaded husband.
"You wanna go to bed early tonight...?" She suggested. He groaned.
"But what about the brats..?" He mumbled.
"Haha. They'll be fine. And they aren't brats, Blasty." She softly scolded. He rolled his eyes, scoffing.
"Whatever."
"I'll put the kids to sleep tonight, alright? You go get some—" Y/n was interrupted by the rapidly approaching footsteps descending the stairs and up to the common room, where the couple sat.
"MAMA MAMA! We want another story like last time!" The pups yelped in excitement. Y/n whined softly, knowing it was going to be a long night.
"Like what? We already told you our life stories-" The exhausted king groaned.
"Maybe about what happened right before they were born...?" Y/n tried to suggest quietly, but alas, the pups inherited their mother's 20/20 hearing.
"OOH! Yeah!" Kaida exclaimed.
"Wait you don't mean our birth, right?" Aaryavir flattened his ears in disgust.
"No no! Way too young for that one, Honey." Y/n assured him. He sighed, letting his ears perk up again.
"Well, I actually have to be awake for that one. You never told me what was happening to you while I was dealing with whoever the hell was living AS you." The vampire king turned himself so his left arm was hanging over the back of the couch and his left foot was on his right knee.
"Oh... right.. yeah, uhm... it wasn't pretty, I'll tell you that." Y/n shifted uncomfortably, remembering the demons she had to face.
"Tell us, tell us!" The pups begged as they ran in front of the couple and situated themselves on the floor, tails wagging as their hands kneaded the carpet.
"Alright. Alright. If you can handle it, I'll tell you."
"We can! Promise!" Aaryavir smiled.
"Yeah! We're tough! Like Daddy says!" Kaida exclaimed, earning a laugh from her father.
"Very well then. Now... How about we start with the month before your birth?" Y/n suggested.
"Mhm." Katsuki agreed. Y/n sighed.
"Alright then... Just know... Things get... intense. To say the least." Y/n's ears lowered.
Six years ago... One month before the pups' birth-
1st POV(Y/n speaking)
"Y/N?! WHAT IN THE HELL?" I ducked, dodging a male who had pounced at me, causing me to laugh.
"Hey Katsu! Finally came out to watch the show, hah?" I teased, wiggling my fingers at the ash blond vampire that ran down the stairs from the front door to the castle. I landed a punch in a guy who was running at me, readying his own punch, causing him to fall to the ground with a grunt.
"YOU SHOULDN'T BE FIGHTING RIGHT NOW! Do you even know how dangerous things get when you're involved?!" The vampire yelled as he ran up to me.
"It's called training, Kacchan~. You don't recognize your own servants?" I called, laughing as I blocked another attack before leg-sweeping my attacker.
"DID YOU FORGET YOU'RE A MONTH AWAY?!" He yelled, panic now made obvious in his tone. I rolled my eyes, my inner wolf scoffing at his behavior.
"What, so just because I'm expecting, I can't continue battle training? I'm sensitive or something?" I growled, showing my fangs before attacking another servant.
"That's not what I'm saying, but I guess worrying about you is a crime?" He snarled, sarcasm lingering from his words as he crossed his arms.
"A crime to the throne, actually. I can take care of myself!" I protested. This baka thinks he can keep me inside for the next month? Like hell!
"I realize that, but you need to be more careful!" He threw a hand out as if he wanted me to take it.
"Tch. Careful? You really don't know me..." I laugh as I shift and attack yet another servant.
"Ugh... Nope, training time's over. You're going inside." I look back at him, shock written on my face as I shifted back into myself.
"Sorry? I don't think so! This castle's boring! I wanna fight!"
"Ever since that adrenaline rush you got when you killed your ex, you've just been begging the universe to kill you, hah?" He grabbed my wrist.
"I guess so! What's the big deal? The kids are fine! Besides, they like when I fight!" Due to the moments where I stopped moving so much, the adrenaline I wanted to feel was fading away from me and fading fast, causing me to pant.
"And what makes you say that?" He seemed like he genuinely wanted to know.
"They kick like crazy as if they're training themselves." I let out a breathy laugh. My vampire king soulmate didn't seem impressed.
"Uhuh. Well, I'm sure it's because your rapid movements are causing them to jerk around, so I suggest you stop being a baka and come back inside. Besides, I haven't gotten to... be with you much today..." He mumbled.
"PFF- I'm sorry... THE Katsuki Bakugo, the king of Buraddo Mūn and one of the most dangerous vampires in Zaro Forest, is feeling needy today? Ha! That's rich!" I laugh, causing his face to heat up as he stuttered.
"WHA— N-no! I'm not needy! You're the one who's always clinging to me and getting herself into trouble!" He protested.
"Yeah, but I don't hear you complaining~." I tease as I walk inside. I hear him mutter some curses as he walks up the stairs behind me and follows me inside. As the door shut, I was too busy teasing Katsuki to notice the eyes that were peering at us from the bushes. The eyes of people I never want to see again.
