~Chapter Twelve: Back For Another Bite~

Y/n watched as Bakugo trained in the backyard. He'd been trying to get stronger for the last couple nights so he could pass the time for Y/n to get her memories in check and because he'd been focusing on getting her back to begin with for the past few weeks. She'd managed to get some idea of what the LOV base looked like and even though some details were vague, the vampires decided that it was their best shot at planning out their attack. So now Y/n was simply watching from their room as Bakugo attacked trees and his own guards to get more out of his training session. She knew this was important for the good of the kingdom, not just for her and their upcoming family, but part of her disliked how much time he was spending away from her now that she'd finally regained consciousness properly.

"Your Highness..?" Y/n flinched a bit at the sound of the voice, quickly turning to see Kirishima at her door, looking worried. She sighed.

"Yes, Eijiro?" She answered. "Do you need something?"

"How've you been..? You've been cooped up in your room for a while now, just watching Bakugo fight bark." He walked up to her.

"Yeah, I.. I'm fine. Just.. a bit needy." She admitted. "He's been spending so much time away from me rather than with me and.. I dunno, maybe I'm just being clingy.."

"No, Y/n. You're fine. He's just trying to make sure our plan doesn't fail. He still wants to be with you, he just has important matters to tend to. He just wants to ensure yours and the kingdom's safety." He smiled softly at her. It was reassuring for her, but at the same time, she still felt like the king could have left some time open for her.

"When's the raid...." she muttered.

"We're hoping tonight. Don't worry. I'll make sure the idiot doesn't get into too much trouble." He chuckled, giving Y/n a shoulder pat. "If you want, I could call him in so you can get some time together?" Y/n glanced out the window, not wanting to interrupt her husband's training, but she did eventually nod in agreement.

"Thanks, Kiri... This means a lot to me.." she smiled faintly. He pulled her into a gentle hug.

"Of course, Y/n... I'll go fetch 'im." He gave his signature, shark-toothed grin before the Dragon Shift ran off to get the king.

Meanwhile...

Bakugo shouted as he landed another kick to his guard, grabbing the arm of another and throwing the two into each other. He paused as he heard the doors open.

"Kiri?" He questioned, allowing the guards to bow and head back to work.

"Your Queen desires your attention." The dragon reminded him, giving a raised eyebrow. Bakugo blinked and furrowed his brow slightly.

"Is something wrong?" He asked.

"We're raiding tonight and you've been training nonstop for the last two nights. You should at least spend some more time with your wife now that she's fully conscious rather than interrogating her and leaving her in your room so you can spend all your time training." Kirishima crossed his arms. Bakugo tensed a bit at his words before he just sighed.

"Yeah, I'm on it. Are the others set?" He questioned.

"We're all ready. Go relax for once, man. Burning yourself out isn't gonna do any good. For yourself, the mission, or your wife." Kirishima pointed out. Bakugo nodded in response and walked past him to get inside and upstairs.
