This morning George woke up with a bad headache. It was probably one of the worst headaches he's had in his whole life but it was so persistent. He didn't feel like going to school anyway so he decided not to worry Dream and went back to sleep. When he woke again hours later he was feeling a lot better and more awake. He sat on his bed thinking how repetitive his days are, nothing new really happens at all.
Today has been just like every other day for about 2 weeks now and even though it seemed to be getting slightly worse everyday it was still pretty dull, and boring. He decided to get out of this depressing state. He got dressed in more colourful clothes, putting on a hoodie from dream that still smelled like him made him smile about. He grabbed his backpack along with his favourite books and headphones as well as his sketchbook then walked outside.
It wasn't raining so the weather was nice, and he liked walking around.
His favorite walk was near the lake, it always helped calm him down when he was feeling particularly stressed or lonely. Today was no exception. When he came across the lake it looked much nicer today. The sky was a bright blue which meant there would be little clouds floating by. His favourite spot where he could draw was also nearby too, he'd drawn some interesting stuff lately that he knew would make a good reference for the upcoming art project. George sat down on a bench under an oak tree, setting his bag next to him as he opened up his sketchpad and pencil. He started drawing the scenery around him, focusing on the nature surrounding him. A few birds chirped as they flew around, and small animals scurried past. This peaceful environment was exactly what he needed right now.He took a deep breath, closing his eyes and taking slow sips of air. Everything seemed to slow down as he relaxed and took everything in.
Suddenly his mind wandered to dream, he felt himself smiling and blushing at the thought of him, and he couldn't help the blush spreading on his cheeks as well. He didn't expect dream to be so cute! And he definitely didn't expect dream to be so kind and understanding. He never expected dream to be anything other than cold and sarcastic and arrogant, but it seems that he had changed.
It was getting pretty late, so George decided to head home. He packed up all his things and set off for home. He was slowly walking down the street, until suddenly he saw dream. As soon as he approached George he immediately hugged him.
"Why didn't you come to school today? I was freaking out!" Dream spoke softly and quickly, obviously scared that George wouldn't have answered him.
"I'm sorry..." George spoke quietly, trying not to show his emotions but failing miserably.
"Why did you stay in your room for the entire day?" Dream asked confusedly.
"Umm...I don't know...I guess my brain is blocked..." George responded awkwardly.George obviously lied. He didn't want Dream to worry about him so much.
"Well, it's not healthy, but I'll let it slide for now, we can talk about it later..." Dream smiled.
They continued walking home in silence. When they arrived Dream invited George into his room to play videogames.
As they played their favorite games in Dream's bedroom, they talked about random subjects. George found out that Dream is actually interested in music. He was surprised and impressed with this information. He was actually really good at piano which made him wonder why he didn't take piano classes instead. Dream seemed to notice George's interest and tried to explain it to him in a way that he would understand. He explained that he wasn't very talented yet and that his parents wanted to focus solely on making sure he attended the best schools possible.
"And that's why I chose music! Music isn't only about academics; it allows me to express myself, and that I want to do." Dream finished.
George nodded "that makes sense".
A comfortable silence fell upon them as they sat watching some game on Dream's computer. They were both completely absorbed in the game at this point, neither of them really cared if they won or lost.
George sighed, he wanted to ask Dream something but didn't quite know how to phrase it.
Dream noticed George's change in mood and turned to face him
"Hey, hey what's wrong?" he asked gently, seeing as George was acting different.
"I've just been thinking...about something..." George replied hesitantly. Dream tilted his head inquiringly, clearly expecting more answers.
"Well...you see...I've never told anyone this before so..." George began but trailed off.
He took a deep breath, he's been wanting to tell someone since he first realised his feelings for Dream but he's never gotten anywhere near telling them, he was afraid that if he said it too loud it might scare Dream away.
Luckily for him Dream was willing to wait for whatever he wanted to say
"Well I like you Dream...a lot...and I know that this relationship will probably end badly...but I want to try..." George admitted quietly.
George's heart was pounding in his chest, it was now or never.
Dream's POV
"You mean you like me?" Dream asked.
"Yes...I think I do" George finally responded.
Dream was beyond happy at this moment, he didn't think George could possibly feel the same way, but he knew George well enough to know how he feels.
"George...can I kiss you?" Dream asked nervously.
George nodded excitedly, and Dream leaned forward and kissed him. They broke apart after a while, they stared at each other for several minutes until Dream broke the quiet.
"You're amazing George..."
"And you're the best thing that ever happened to me..." George responded quietly.
Both boys laughed a bit shyly.
Dream stood up and stretched his arms over his head, then he walked over and lifted George up bridal style. George squeaked in surprise.
"What are you doing Dream?!" he giggled.
Dream simply ignored him and carried George on the bed. Both boys laid down facing each other. Neither of them moved, instead both of them just stared into each other's eyes as if their gazes alone could send the world into shambles. Their breaths mingled together, becoming heavy and ragged. Their faces were closer together than ever before, their lips practically touching. Suddenly Dream broke the silence.
"George, you should kiss me again..." he whispered seductively.
George's eyes widened and his cheeks flushed red. After a moment he closed the distance between their lips and pressed his against Dreams' soft ones. It was slow and gentle, neither of them moving in any specific direction.
George's hands rested on Dream's hips, pulling them closer together and deepening the kiss. He felt Dream smile against his mouth, his hands finding its way to Dream's hair.
After a moment Dream pulled away, leaving both boys panting hard. Dream pulled George back into a hug, burying his nose into his neck as his arms wrapped around George's waist. George held onto Dream tightly in return.
They stayed like this for who knows how long, until eventually the two boys pulled away to look at each other. They smiled happily and giggled, they were so close together, it was obvious they were going to spend the rest of the night like that.
"Can I stay the night?" George asked shyly.
"Of course" Dream replied with a big grin.
"Goodnight Dream."
"Goodnight."
The pair layed in Dream's bed together, cuddling and holding each other tight. The moonlight shone brightly through the window, creating a beautiful glow to Dream's room.
The moon cast a warm glow upon the couple, illuminating their faces. There was no need for light, as they were perfectly fine without it anyways. They enjoyed each others company and warmth, letting themselves enjoy a rare moment alone in a world filled with chaos.
