About Last Night

Chapter 4

"Hey! We meet again! Haha. I'm Jackson, the owner here. Do you know this crazy girl? She is giving me quite a time. I think I might have to kick her out." He said as he dodged a drunken swing from Jessie, sending them both into a fit of laughter.

"Noél! Don't listen to him! He's the one picking on me. I'm innocent, I swear!" She said and promptly hiccupped, covering her mouth before laughing again. Jackson just smiled at her, holding her up so she didn't fall.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, and yes, we work together. We should probably get her home. It looks like she's had her fill." She smiled and gave Jackson a slight bow, grateful for his help. She started asking the other girls to help Jackson with Jessie, but he put up his hand and shook his head.

"No, no. It's okay. I've got this one. Taking care of her drunk ass has become one of my favorite things to do. It's ok. I'll make sure she gets home safe. You can ask Hyungwon. I'm trustworthy." He said, giving her a sincere look before standing and lifting Jessie up in his arms, carrying her off and leaving them all a bit stunned. Lisa looked over at me, her mouth hung half open. Rosé just started blinking, not quite sure what they had just witnessed.

"Did... That just happen?" Rosé said. 

"Um... I think it really did." Noél commented chuckling. 

"Our drunk friend, getting carried off by the hot club owner, who she happens to be friends with? Yup, that certainly happened." Rosé and Noél looked over at Lisa, who just stood there with a smirk on her face.

Should we have... I dunno... Maybe, stopped that from happening?" asked with a concerned look on her face, but Lisa shook her head and let the smile on her face widen.

"That, my friends, is exactly what Jessie wanted. She has had a huge crush on that Jackson guy for the longest time and if we had done anything to screw this up for her, she would have KILLED us when she finally sobered up. She kinda warned me that something might happen tonight, I just thought she'd want to be conscious for it when it did." Lisa chuckled and flashed them both a brilliant but mischievous smile before grabbing her drink off the bar and taking a long sip while staring back into the crowd.

Rosé and l just looked at each other shocked to he just now hearing about all this and wondering why they hadn't been clued in before. Noél shook her head slightly to bring herself back to focus on the task at hand. She had promised Hyungwon that she would stay where he could see her and the bar was not in view of the stage at all.

"Okay then... So now what?" Noél said looking at back and forth between them. 

Lisa put down her empty glass and looked around one last time before checking her watch.

"I think I am gonna head out, actually. I see absolutely no one that I would be interested in taking home or spending the night with so... Yeah. Home to my empty apartment and my cat." She smiled and Rosé nodded and said she would join her. Then they turned to Noél.

"What about you? You disappeared for a while. Did you get lucky or were the lines to the bathroom really that long?" Lisa eyed her almost knowingly. She was always pretty good at figuring out what was really going on.

"I think I will stick around a bit longer. I am really digging this DJ and I'm nowhere near tired yet."

"Just promise me that you will be careful and not drink to much. I don't need to hear on Monday that you were kidnapped." Lisa gave her a smile.

"Haha. I promise I will be safe. You both have a good night and text me when you are home."

Noél gave both of the girls a hug and watched them walk out of the bar together. She smiled to herself thankful to have such good friends before remembering that she had been gone for quite a bit of time now. She hurriedly made her way back to where she could see the stage biting her bottom lip when she saw him. He looked like he was scanning the crowd over and over searching for her in a sea of people. When his eyes finally met hers, she gave him a little wave and a thumbs up to let him know everything was taken care of for the evening. She noticed how he visibly seemed to relax and go back to enjoying herself.

She made her way to a table with an empty booth in the back corner and made herself comfortable ordering an ice water from the passing waitress. She couldn't do anything but watch, smiling as he commanded the stage working the crowd so effortlessly. She was in total awe of him and it warmed her inside. He seemed to draw and feed off the crowds energy swinging his arms back and forth to the rhythm of the beats he created. Every now and then his eyes would land on her, and she could feel her whole body react to his glances. She had to order several more ice waters just to keep from running over and jumping onto the stage, taking his body in front of everyone. Her wolf was going mad with need for her mate. She never knew the mate bond could be this strong.

The rest of the night seemed to pass rather quickly for Hyungwon as he had finally found her in the crowd. He had started to anxious thinking that maybe she had changed her mind and decided to leave but then he figured that she had to find her friends and deal with that. It didn't stop him from searching the crowd for her like the hungry wolf he was searching out his prey. He had never wanted to be with anyone so badly in his life until he had met Noél, but he guessed that was exactly what the mate bond did. It made you crazy with desire for the one that you belonged with. He smiled to himself repeating her name in his head as she finally appeared within his line of sight. She smiled and waved at him cutely giving him a thumbs up before moving to an empty booth in the back.

He grinned and slowly closed his eyes for a few seconds finally releasing the breath he hadn't realized that he had been holding. He could finally relax a bit and went back to the music. It seemed to flow through him more so than usually. He had a picture of her in his mind as he created beats for the crowd to dance to glancing up at her sweet, smiling face every once and a while. He knew she was watching him intently and he liked having her eyes on him.
