Captivating // Ben Orr

part one

It was Friday night, but it was also the night you've been waiting for, the Cars concert, you're emotions are all over the place, but one thing was for sure is that you could hardly wait.

"I need to figure out an outfit, it's gotta be a good one though, I mean then again, it's not like the band will see it, even if I'll be in the front row; dang, I still can't believe I got seats that close..anyway!! I need to get on the stick and get ready!! ahh!!"

"Hmm let's see, I think I'll wear this skirt, and..oo YES, this shirt and then all I have to do is finish it with my white gogo boots"

6:45 p.m.

"ok, make sure I have everything..Oh- almost forgot perfume" I spray a little around my outfit and look in the mirror "okay..let's go"

7:00 p.m.

"oh my gosh, it's a mad house in here, not a surprise though, it's a cars concert, I gotta go find my seat"

"Woah..I knew my seats were infront, but I didn't- this is right? right?.. well, it must be, because it matches what shows on my ticket so obviously it is.."

The lights go down and the show was about to start.

you start having a mini panic attack because you were bracing yourself for them to all come on stage while it was still sorta dark; you see a tall silhouette picking up an electric, then you saw another figure walking, picking up a bass then stood in place next to the other one, then next thing you knew they were all there.

It was all getting real now.

They start out with Shoo Be Doo then start Let's Go

It all seemed so surreal and you still couldn't process any of it.

You couldn't stop grinning and especially because you were right in eye-shot of the one that makes you weak, Ben Orr.

"..I like the nightlife baby, she says, let's go!!"

Ben eeks out the last part of the song and you are now unable to control yourself.

The atmosphere starts to simmer down and the lights dim a little and you lost your sight of Ben on the stage.

you wait to hear what song's coming next because you couldn't remember and then all of a sudden the beginning of a familiar song started, then you realized what it was.

Elliot starts struming his electric and you were suddenly beginning to get nervous now.

Ben begins the song with his haunting voice;

"Life's the same, I'm moving in stereo, life's the same, except for my shoes, life's the same, you're shaking like tremolo, life's the same, it's all inside you.."

He looks directly at me.

And just from that moment, my legs began to feel like they lost all feeling to them. He looked straight at me. I just stood there, frozen for a short moment until I had to get myself to regain focus again, though I was still trying to process what had just happened.

--Disclaimer: I don't know why this chapter accidentally turned out so long but it's probably b/c I don't have much experience writing a story so bear with me 🙃😅 onto what happens after this in the next chapter ;)
