Captivating // Ben Orr

2 a.m.

"Ugh, I can't get comfortable." I say getting restless on the couch.

"And I wanted to avoid having something like this happening that'll cause me to reluctantly go to Ben's room." I say to myself.

"Well, I guess I don't really have a choice in the matter, it's either I lose sleep on this couch, or go to his room." I shrug.

*I make my way to Ben's room*

"Knock knock." I say at his door.

"Ben, you awake?" I ask because he didn't answer.

"Come in." He says.

I turn the knob to open his door and walk into his room.

"Looks like I proved you right hun." He says smirking at me.

"You know what, I tried my hardest to make it work, but I just couldn't and I wanted to avoid it coming to this but it was just too uncomfortable." I say a little annoyed.

"Yeah, couches are most times notorious for not being comfortable." He says.

"You sleep without a shirt I see." I casually point out.

He looks at his chest and looks at me.

"Oh yeah, it's just more comfortable for me that way, is that gonna be a problem for you?" He teases.

"Uh, pssh, no.." I say trying not to show that I am a little uncomfortable about it.

"You sure?.." he continues.

"No, really! I'm fine!" I say trying to reassure him.

"Well then come on over." He gestures me to come lay next to him.

"Oh, okay..hah." I say kinda nervous.

"Don't worry, I won't bite." He teases once again.

"Well obviously Ben, you're not a dog." I say rolling my eyes.

"I'm just teasing, get over here." He pats on the empty space next to him on his bed.

"Ok. But you better not try to pull any fast ones on me man." I say

"I'm too tired, I just want to go to sleep, it's almost 3 a.m. so you have nothing to worry about honey." He says trying to reassure me.

*I get in next to him*

"This is weird, ugh." I say.

"It could be worse you know, you could be hurting your back and neck on the couch and lose sleep." He points out.

"Yeah yeah, I know, but still." I say back.

*I turn on my side facing away from him*

"Just so we're not too close, ya know." I inform him.

"That's fine, I could obviously tell you've never had a boyfriend if you're too afraid to lay next to me." He says.

"Well and also, again, I'm younger and you're older than me and I'm not used to that." I point out.

"I know, but I thought you said the guys your age weren't you're type?" He says.

"I know, but since I'm not used to it and all, it's just weird to me." I say back.

"Would you mind me asking you something? If it's okay." He asks.

"Umh, it depends..what?" I ask slowly turning to face him.

"Have you ever kissed anyone? I would assume no but just thought I'd ask anyway." He says.

"Oh- well, uh, I mean, uh." I stumble on my words.
