I yank my phone out of my backpack to find that I have a missed call from Matt. I decide to ignore it and go to my dial screen, where I call 911. Two rings in, a man answers.
"Emergency?" He sounds tired and annoyed.
"Yes. Some horrible has happened. Please, come quickly." I say frantically.
"Address?" He sounds just a little more alert. I relay my home address to him and he tells me that someone will be here shortly. I end the call and pull myself together. A few minutes, and I hear a knock. After peeking out the window, I see it's two deputy's. I hurry them in, then lock the door again. Once we'll all sitting on the couch, I tell them everything that happened.
They listen intently, then when I'm done, the younger deputy, a woman, says calmly, "Ma'am, please tell us you have an actual emergency. We don't have time for this."
"This is an emergency!" I yell. "My friends are dead!"
"Because of a ghost woman?" The man inserts questioningly. That's when I realize how insane I sound. A day ago, I wouldn't have believed it myself. I try to find a way to make it sound reasonable, but all that comes out is a very quiet, "Yes."
"I think we'll just leave you off with a warning, dear. You seem like a good girl," the woman -Karyn- says. "Have a goodnight."
I can't help it. I grab her and shake the woman. "NO! MY FRIENDS HAVE BEEN MURDERED! IT'S YOUR JOB TO INVESTIGATE FRIKIN MURDERS!"
"Miss, please, just calm down," the man pleads, pulling me off the Karyn. Unable to control myself, I spin around and attack the man (Jobe). He expects it, though and whips out his taser. I'm too distracted with my own blind fury and hate, I don't see it in time. He jabs it into my side, and I collapse. The only thing I remember is falling asleep to him picking me up and tossing me over his shoulder.
