Audrey wakes up strapped to a bed. The night before was fuzzy and confusing. Slowly, she remembers the events that took place. Not able to hold it in, she lets loose a terrible screech. A nurse comes running into the room, a look of concern on her face. Audrey's eyes dart around the room in a frantic motion. The nurse comes over slowly, and injects her with something.
"This should help with the panic and stress," she soothes.
"W-w-where am I?" Audrey stutters.
"Campaign Oaks Institution," the woman states. Audrey's heavy breathing calms down at that moment, and she start laughing hysterically.
"I'm in the cuckoo place?" Audrey laughs.
"I suppose you could call it that," the nurse replies. "Now, just rest. Your parents are coming to visit you in a few hours.
"Okay." She suddenly find myself lethargic. The traumatized girl settles into the comfortable bed as much as she can with her bonds. As she lies there, she thinks over the past night. Her friends were dead, killed by a murderous spirit that even she's not sure is truly real and she was brought to the last place she thought to have ended up.
She holds in a giggle and tries to focus on sleeping. It's difficult. Every time she closes her eyes, Audrey finds that all she can see is a face that belongs in a horror movie. Either that or different images of how her mind figured her friends' mutulated corpses looked. Eve was the worse, then Daniel. Candy was the scariest. Since she had fought back, she was more damaged and a look of desperate terror was frozen on her cold face.
It made Audrey begin to cry uncontrollably. Even though she wanted to deny it, maybe she really did belong here. Maybe she did need some help after something so terrifying. Maybe she was cuckoo and needed to spend some time with the cuckoo caretakers. One last tear stuck on her face, Audrey falls into a sleep full of nightmares and insane dreams.
And here is where she would stay for the next eight years.
