"Mom! Go away!" Vic screamed as he slammed the bedroom door. "Honey, it's for the best. Your father and I think it will be good for you." Vic sat on his bed, just waiting for his mom to end the conversation and walk away. "Vic. Please open door." He could hear the desperation in her voice, and he knew what was coming next. He sat quietly, contemplating the consequences of opening up or shutting her out. "We only want what's best." Her voice dismal and quite. Vic sighed and stood up. Slowly walking to the door, he twisted the knob and opened to door to see his mom in tears. "You don't have to cry mom. It's not even that big of a deal, I just don't want to go." He shrugged. His mothers sad eyes looking up at him were what made him most upset. "Mama, please stop crying." He said wiping tears from her cheeks. "I only want what's best for you, and you don't seem to care. I want you to grow up to be a man! Someone who can support themselves!" She wailed even louder. "Mama, please. I only skipped home economics." He said, trying and failing at making his mother feel better. "Twice! You skipped twice." She corrected. "Yes, twice, but still." Vic shook his head. "You know what, just wait for your father. I'm done talking about this!" She said throwing up her arms and walking away. Vic sighed again and walked back to his bed. He sat down and pulled his knees to his chest. Vic groaned as he fell over so that his head was on the pillows. He tried to sleep because he knew as soon as his Father got home, sleep would be the last thing on the agenda.
