Vic's POV
I heard the front door slam then the ever so slightly muffled sounds of my dad's yelling. "Victor Vincent Fuentes, get your ass out here!" Here we go again, today might be a little bit different though considering the fact that my mom was crying. I sighed as I stood up and walked to my bedroom door. I have to admit I was kind of nervous. I mean I get in trouble most days but, that's usually for unfinished chores, and this was skipping school. I knew this would happen, but it was worth the time I got with Jaime. I took a deep breathe and opened the door, as soon as I took one step out, my anxiety decided to join the party. I really don't think things could get worse from here, but there's always a chance. my dad stormed in my room "I thought I said get your ass down here! Don't you ever listen you fuck up."
"I-I was c-coming" I wished I could k shrivel up and die right there. Before I could do anything else he slapped me across the face.
"You were coming!? Not fast enough!" My father, as you can probably tell, isn't the nicest man alive. Sometimes I'm not either but I try to control myself, I can't let my little brother think it's okay just to hit people. "I'm sorry sir," I keep my head down. "It won't happen again."
"You're damn right it won't!" I could feel the rage in every word he spoke. "How could you be so stupid?! See, unfinished chores I can deal with. A couple missing assignments, I can deal with, but skipping classes? What the hell were you you thinking?!" I was afraid to look up, I didn't want to get smacked again so I kept quiet. "Are you even listening?" He grabbed my shoulder and pulled me out of my room, then pushed me into the living room.
"Dad! Chill! Please!" I heard my little brother Mike say. I'm not worried about him because he's the favorite, and if my dad so much as flicks him my mother freaks out and threatens to leave and take him with her. And lord knows my father wouldn't last a day if she left. His grip on my shoulder tightened, causing me to bend to the side a bit as he looked over at my brother. "This doesn't concern you. Go to your room!" He barked. Mike pursed his lips and stomped back to his room. "Dad, I'm sorry. Please let go of me." I practically begged. He let go kind of pushing me. "What the hell were you thinking?! Skipping class. See when I was your age you know what would've happened? I would have been expelled! Yeah! They are too easy in you kids these days." He ranted and exaggerated until I sighed. "Oh I'm sorry. Is this boring you?" He asked with fake sympathy. I just stood and stared at him my lips pursed in anger and frustration. He rolled his eyes and sighed heavily. "Go pack your shit." He demanded. "No! Please don't make me go! I don't want to live with grandma.." I whined. I know I sounded like a child but like come on.. Her house smelt like old perfume and burnt cookies. "Vic. This is your own fault. You've been acting out and influencing your baby brother. Until you straighten out, you'll be living with your grandmother." My mom spoke up. "But mom! Don't you remember? That really weird boy who lived next door.." I explained getting flash back to visits years ago. "Oh I'm sure he's grown up. And it might be good, you'll know someone." She said encouragingly. "Now go pack." She said softly pushing me to my room. "We leave tomorrow morning." She said giving me a reassuring smile, but not actually looking at me. She left and closed my door leaving me to myself. I walked to my closet and took out two large suitcases and threw them on my bed. I picked up my phone and tried calling Jaime but he didn't answer. "Well I guess I'm packing now..." I sighed and started piling random items of clothing my suitcases, mainly skinny jeans and band t-shirts, a couple of hoodies too.
After I finished I decided to try and call jaime a couple more times but, I still never got answer. I guess I'm spending my last night alone. I curled up in bed with a pillow and laid there. I pathetically stared at my phone for roughly half an hour until it finally rang, I jumped a bit startled by the buzzing. I looked at the screen and was instantly filled with joy when Jaime's name flashed on the screen. I answered the phone maybe a bit to eagerly. "Jaime? Oh my god please come over! I need to get out of here.."
"Okay babe I'll be there in ten. Get ready, we're going to have a great night." He said with a little chuckle at the end.
"What do you mean?" I could feel myself blushing as I hoped for the best.
"You'll see darling I've got everything planned." He said before hanging up.
I began running around my room trying to find my best clothes because, this was kinda me and Jaime's first date I guess. I was so excited I couldn't stop smiling. I was sort of struggling to get my skinny jeans on so I was flopping around on my bed like a fish out of water trying to pull them up.
