Chapter 1

Y/n pov:

"Mother! I don't need a bodyguard!!" I snapped. Ever since the Traveler arrived to Sumeru, rumors have been spreading like wildfire.

"You've heard the rumors, what if something bad happens while you're on one of your walks?" My Mother replies calmly.

"I can protect myself! I got an a electro vision remember?!?" I fought back, taking my electro vision off of my belt and held it so Mother could see.

"Yes but you're still not sure how to use it, do you?!? Last time you tried using it you nearly electrocuted yourself!!!" Mother raised her voice.

"Fine." I didn't want to get in trouble, and she was kinda right. I still couldn't control my vision well. I started walking towards the front door. I was going to go visit Nilou for a bit to get my mind off things.

"You'll be meeting your bodyguard tomorrow! So don't be back too late!! We still need to prepare for them!!!" Mother yelled from the hallway as I closed the front door. I clipped my electro vision back to my belt and started walking towards the Zubayr Theatre, assuming Nilou, my best friend would be there.

~Time skip~

"And then I just left and came here." I finished, telling Nilou everything that happened. I leaned back in my chair and crossed my arms.

"All because of some rumors? I thought your mother wasn't the type to believe in those things." Nilou replies, a bit confused.

"Yeah, she didn't at first. But then she actually saw the traveler and that's where this all started." I sighed.

"I wonder why she got you a bodyguard and not S/n [Sisters name]... " She wondered.

"Probably because I go outside more then S/n. She prefers studying in her room all day." I muttered. I noticed it was getting darker out and remembered what Mother said before I left.

"I should probably go now, I'm meeting my bodyguard tomorrow so Mother wanted me to be back early to prepare or something." I got up from my seat.

"Yeah, you should also hope that you get along with them" Nilou joked, getting up from her seat as well. After saying goodbye I started walking back home. The entire walk home, all I could think about was the bodyguard and what they might be like.

I know it's a short chapter but it's almost 5am and I'm not sure what else to write for this chapter, but I promise I'll try to make the rest of the chapters longer 💀
