class had just ended and valentina, maeve and matt were packing their things away.
valentina spent majority of the lesson ignoring matt and his lingering stares as she got to know maeve better- the two definitely hit it off, even going as far as exchanging phone numbers.
val payed no attention to matt as she walked out of the classroom with maeve, the two parting ways as they had separate classes.
"valentina!" the brunette girl heard someone yell from behind her.
val furrowed her brows and turned around, only to find her face being met with a chest. the girl looked up and saw matt.
he was fairly taller than her due to her lack of height, so she had to look up at him whilst he looked down at her.
"matthew," she said firmly.
the boy stepped back a bit due to their close distance and rubbed his hand on the back of his neck, "are you gonna sit with us at lunch today?"
valentina looked around in thought, "if i do, you'll know," she spoke in a monotone voice as she turned back around to walk to her next lesson.
"valentina wait,"
"what do you want matthew?" the girl sighed tiredly.
she hated talking to him. she hated how he was speaking to her as if he didn't break her heart- as if he didn't know what happened.
"can i walk you to class? it's, um, it's on the way to mine so.." he questioned awkwardly.
the brunette girl squinted her eyes at the boy before her in distaste, "why would you do that?"
"i used to always walk you to lesson.."
"used to," valentina reiterated, "that's a key word, matthew."
"i don't get why we can't be friends, valentina." matt huffed.
"that's a silly thing to say, matthew. and honestly? you're better off- i'm better off."
