it had been a week since the date with zion, meaning it had been a week since valentina and matt had actually talked.

the pair had both collectively decided to ignore each other after their encounter at the diner, neither of the two knowing what to say to one another.

the group had also noticed the obvious tension in the air when the two were together and they all knew it had something to do with that darned diner.

valentina was confused to say the least. how could matt stand there and question her feelings for another boy whilst he was on a date with another girl? the girl.

valentina was currently sat in creative writing with maeve, and matt of course.

the two girls were chatting away, getting lost in their own world instead of focusing on the work.

"he took you to that diner?" maeve questioned.

valentina nodded, "yeah, and he said the most corny shit ever about it being a special place to him and i internally melted, maeve."

maeve shuddered, "you're making me feel single, val."

"i'm not even dating him," valentina remarked.

maeve looked to the girl with a pointed look, "you may as well! why hasn't he asked you out yet?"

valentina couldn't actually answer this because she genuinely didn't know why zion hadn't asked her out yet.

matt was listening to the whole conversation and a smirk unknowingly grew on his face that maeve didn't miss, maybe he had a chance.

"i don't know actually.. everyone thinks we're dating or some shit but we still choose to stay as just friends, i guess." valentina explained.

"maybe he's just too much of a pussy to ask you out," maeve deadpanned. this caused the brunette girl to snort, but her attention went to the sound of snickering.

"why are you laughing, matthew?"

this caused said boy to turn around in his seat, this being the first time the two had spoken since the diner.
