Brenna

A loud exclamation of pain woke me up.

I jolted up, looking around to locate the sound and potential threat, to discover that I was not in my bedroom.

Or anywhere familiar at that.

Then it all came back to me. I was in the bionic academy and Douglas had extracted my chip surgically and I was resting.

"Adam stop." I heard a voice behind me and turned around to find Adam Davenport holding his younger brother in a headlock while, Bree Davenport stood beside her brothers, shaking her head in disappointment.

"Good morning." I said, catching the siblings attention. Sitting up properly, I looked down at myself, still in the clothes I arrived in yesterday. I saw how my shirt rose up while I was sleeping and quickly pulled it down again.

"Hi, I'm Bree, but I guess you already know that." Bree introduced herself, holding her hand out to shake. I take it "Brenna Krane."

"A pleasure to meet the enemy." came from Adam, earning himself a glare from Bree. Chuckling I got up.

"Pleasure meeting the people responsible for making me an orphan." I said back, laughing, walking up to the tallest Davenport. He had barely a reaction to what I had just said and just shrugged.

Bree and Chase on the other hand looked a bit guilty. "It's okay guys. I promise."

Changing the subject, Bree held out a pile of clothes. "Chase said you didn't have any luggage on you when you arrived and I thought you might want to change into something that is not a students uniform."

A surprised smile spread on my face. "That's really considerate of you. Thank you Bree." I took the clothes she handed me and pointed towards the door, leading to the bathroom.

"I'll get changed real quick." I said before disappearing behind the door, locking it. Setting the clothes down on the counter I quickly washed my face and brushed my teeth before taking a look at what Bree had given me.

She picked plain black Jeans and a simple dark green T-Shirt. Getting changed, I exited the bathroom to see Chase sitting on the armchair, Bree and Adam having left already.

"Where did the others go?" I asked the last remaining Davenport in the room. He lifted his head up to look at me upon hearing my voice. Getting up, he walked towards me, a little first aid case in his hand.

"They already left for breakfast. I still need to check on your wound and then we can go too." he explained, setting the case down on the table before gesturing for me to sit down.

Doing so, I sat down on the couch, slightly turning and pulling my hair away from my neck.

Chase sat down behind me and I felt as he pulled the gauze, secured with some medical tape, away. He didn't speak as he cleaned the wound up, applied some ointment to promote the healing process and then taped some fresh gauze over it.

His touch was light, nothing more then the tips of this fingers flying over my skin.

"There we go all done." he said, the feeling of his fingers still lingering on the nape of my neck. He then pulled his hands away and started to clean up the supplies he used.

"Thank you." I smiled at him, turning back around. "Do you think I'll get to see Douglas today?"

Chase looked up again, closing the lid of his case. "I can take you to him but why would you voluntarily spend time with him?"

I shrugged. "Because Ive known him for practically my whole life? He is the closest thing I have to a family and surprisingly enough I really missed him. And Marcus but last I heard he was out of order." was the answer I gave the bionic boy.
