Brenna

I woke up with a pounding head ache.

Opening my eyes, I was shortly blinded by the bright light in the room, before managing to open them fully, blinking away to clear my vision.

It looked like I was in some kind of hospital room. The steady beeping noise from the machine next to the bed I was in confirming that suspicion.

I groaned and tried to sit up. But I did not get far with that plan, pain spreading through my body at the movement.

The beeping on the machine exhilarated with my heartbeat, getting on my nerves.

"Stupid beeping machine." I mumbled, laying my head back down on the pillow, glaring at the heart-rate-monitor.

It was only then that realization struck. I was in a hospital bed.

How did I end up in here?

The last thing I remembered was fighting Sebastian in the common area and that I had extensively used my ability, causing me to black out.

Just as I was about to attempt sitting up again, the door to the room slid open and a worried looking Chase stumbled in.

"Howdy partner." I greeted him and he threw me a humorless look.

"How do you feel?" he asked me, standing at the edge of the bed, looking down at me. "I saw your heart rate rise and came to check on you."

"I feel like I got run over by a truck with three trailers, all loaded with bricks and oak tree logs." I explained, finally managing to push myself in a sitting position with a pained groan.

"That was oddly specific." Chase looked at me funny, helping to stabilize me and putting a pillow behind my back. "Maybe your head got injured."

I scoffed. "My head is fine." the pounding got worse for a second, as if to remind me of my head ache. "My head is kinda fine."

"Well, I'm glad you woke up. I needed to run some tests on your chip." he immediately went into scientist mode. "It was the reason you blacked out. You maxed out your ability when you should not have been able to and your body couldn't handle it."

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Then how was I able to max my ability out?" I asked him. It did not make sense. I can't just use more power than I have.

"I don't know for sure how you did it. But I am assuming it had something to do with that purple mist thingy you discovered during training. Your eyes were purple when you came back." he kept on explaining, grabbing my chip from a near by table.

He turned back around to face me. "Staying on that topic, how did you come back? Sebastian geo-leaped you away."

I shrugged. "I honestly don't know. He brought me to my room and I needed to find a way back to you guys, so I let the mist take over."

Chase nodded, sitting down on the edge of my hospital bed. "It put me in some kind of mediation and showed me how to create a mirror version of a place that I can enter. I can move through the mirrors and like go through walls and stuff when I am in the mirror." I finished explaining.
