Another day, another incident.
Weird things have been happening to me ever since I moved, and today was no exception!
Alya invited me to get ice cream with her, her boyfriend, and a couple other people in our class. Sounds like a normal, fun, friendship activity, right?
Wrong.
As soon as I got there, things went downhill FAST. Let me explain it...

I checked my phone again to see if I'd got the meeting spot right. Alya said to meet her on the Trocadéro, I think.
"Hey, girl!"
I looked up, and a few feet away from me was Alya and a couple of our other classmates. "Hey!" I called back, running over to them.
Alya grinned, "You're gonna love this place, Andre's Sweetheart Ice Cream is the best around!" She motioned for the others to come over to us, while I put my phone back in my pocket.
"I don't know if you've been introduced to everybody yet, so! Y/N, you already know Mylene," The short girl gave a little wave, "Her boyfriend Ivan," he nodded, "And my boyfriend, Nino!" she finished with a smile, grabbing his hand.
"It's nice to formally meet you all," I smiled, giving the group an awkward little wave.
So embarrassing, they're your classmates. They already know who you are.
Ivan waved back. "I think you're in our school, right? I've seen you around but... haven't had the chance to talk to you yet."
I blinked. "...We're all in Ms. Bustier's class, actually- have you not noticed me?"
His tone quickly turned apologetic. "OH! Oh my god, I'm so sorry- I don't hear a lot about you, Y/N." Ivan looked incredibly embarrassed, and Mylene gave him a little hug.
Ouch. That kinda stung.
"I-It's okay," I assured him. "You and I have never talked before, so I guess it kinda makes sense for you to forget who I was. Hah!"
My attempt to lighten the mood failed, and the group fell into an awkward silence, so I looked around for an exit in the conversation. Luckily, Marinette arrived.
"Hey, Alya!" she smiled, running over and hugging her. "Hey, Marinette!" Alya said back.
The tension melted away the moment she arrived, and I sighed in relief.
"Where's Adrien?" she asked, pulling away to look for the model.
Alya grimaced. "Don't get upset, okay? But... Nino just got a text. Adrien's dad isn't letting him go out."
"What's his problem?" I asked, causing Marinette to frown.
"Adrien's old man is super strict with him about going out. And what he wears. And what he eats. And... everything, really," Nino explained bitterly, crossing his arms.
My eyes narrowed. "And everyone's just okay with this?"
"No," Alya sighed, "Most people don't know about Gabriel being controlling. They just assume that Adrien doesn't want to leave the house ever since his mom..." She trailed off, suddenly noticing something else.
I followed her gaze, and relaxed a bit. "Hey, isn't that the Andre guy?"
It was, in fact, the Andre guy. He was singing and scooping ice cream at the same time to a couple, who both seemed very happy with the ice cream they'd gotten.
