The Falling Star

Chapter 2

Maria felt the snow on her feet despite her shoes, she finally found some wooden gates she smiled then she fainted into the snow. Awakening what seemed like seconds later but of course were not she opened her eyes to a comfy bed she tried to sit up but seemed to hit her head on a bunk bed she rubbed it but immediately in the corner of her eye a man dressed almost head to toe in what seemed like a gold alloy armor with no helmet "Morning mage." the guy gave a cold stare almost emotionless "Now how did you avoid the detection of the Night glass?" The man stood up Maria finally saw the bars and how she was behind them he was pacing them with his arms behind him he soon realized he smiled "Ahh because you're no mage, your a fairy." A door from the distance way out of Maria's view opened "Knight commander stop scaring the girl." The man looked over "This girl is a...." A women shorter than the man with armor but not too short peered over "She is a fairy and you know our rules-" the man groaned "Yeah, Yeah fairy's are to be treated with kindness, due to that blasted treaty, but she's in our lands meaning she-" the torch's in the rooms fire went out Both of them looked towards the cell with shocked faces, they looked pale as though they see another person behind her she looked back and saw a small child with short black hair and pale like the dead skin he had black orbs where his eyes should be "Release the girl Templar." It walked forward through the door and through Maria, it gave her a cold shiver the armored man stepped back and pulled out his sword "W-What are you!?" He yelled the child smiled "I'm one of the avatars for the god of order and music Asmodia, you may call me Camden." The women looked at the armored man "Welter!" He ram forward with his sword out the gates of the cell opened as he lunged forward Camden smiled he snapped his finger stopping Walter in his place "Oh please, my magic is sound based meaning I can use sound to stop you in your tracks by doubling their waves if I continue you'll go deaf permanently and possibly bleed out and die." Welter fell to the ground on his knees he began coughing out blood "Stop please, Welter is just doing his job!" The women yelled Camden sighed "Fine Lori." Once more Camden snapped his fingers reversing what was done to welter "But attack me again and I'll kill you."  Welter stood up holding his stomach as he began to breath heavier "What do you want?" Camden smiled "The gods and goddess's have a plan for this one, but for now she needs to be taught magic, you'll have her soul for a good 18 years enough time for that little ritual you have. If she's harmed when I return I'll kill you all." Maria looked at Camden confused "My soul?" Camden turned "Sadly this body of yours currently isn't sufficient for what we have for you, so you'll die then be back in a new fairy body." Maria looked anxiously at the kid.

She shook her head "But if I die then another person will come!" Camden nodded "Usually in a span of three weeks to a year after you die but the gods will try to hold it up to 18 years after that be prepared for someone unexpected."  Maria was about to talk once more but Camden snapped and everything went dark. She could see nothing but her soul. Through some time she finally awoke to a different body her memories were barely accessible now she looked around a boy the same age as her current body looked at her "Azura, your awake." He said smiling he grabbed her hand "Now let's go we'll be late for class." He dragged her out of bed forcing the girl used to be known as Maria now as Azura out of her bed forcing her to run but they were stop at the door by a knight in iron clad armor "Mister Welter!"  The man looked at Azura then the boy "Kid what's the rush?" The boy looked around ashamed "Me and Azura woke up late and we're about to be late Mister welter's." Welter groaned smiling slightly "and we know your mentor Lend will be pissed off." The kid nodded welter stepped aside "Fine Liam, this time you and your friend won't be examined for any bad spells in your journals." Liam smiled  he ran forward again forcing Azura to run but not before Azura could see welter was staring at Azura with a bit of anger.
