Though the path of life grows shorter
And the aims in life grow dim
My years ahead will always glow
Because of you.
You light up my every moment,
You smile through all my cares
You are a very special man
Who caught me unaware.
I felt as if life has cheated me,
Until I saw your face,
Then my tears were all gone,
And contentment took their place;
If I live to be a hundred
I shall never forget the day
You took my hand and held it.
Please Lord let him stay!
