Chapter 7

POV Tyler

Tense I sat in the living room and had to suppress my urge to reach for Seraphina.

I was next to my father who in turn sat across from Seraphina and across from me sat her father Dr. Moore.

"I must thank you Dr. Moore for your expertise...."
My father had been speaking to Dr. Moore for some time now. 
They spoke intensly about Seraphina and I, which drew Seraphina's attention to him as well.

I gritted my teeth and sat next to all the blabbering, annoyed at the attention my father was drawing.

Your attention should be on me and no
one else!

I swallowed down my anger to keep my facade up and kept staring at Seraphina.
Her petite figure looked lovely on the tall sofa and her hands were lightly clutching the hem of her shirt.

Though her hands had been clawed into my hair not too long ago when we kissed.
A pleasant shiver ran down my spine at this thought and I continued to fix my eyes on her.

"What do you mean Tyler?", I was asked by Dr. Moore and snapped out of my thoughts.
Confused I looked at him.
He looked at me with a knowing smile and repeated his question, "I would recommend leaving the two of you alone for the time being, so that you can complete your connection and only then continue with school life at Nevermore, otherwise it could become dangerous.  What do you think about this solution?"

Still confused, I looked at Dr. Moore and quickly regained my composure.
With a shy smile I said, "sounds good."

Dr. Moore nodded at me and now looked at Seraphina, who eyed him from her side.
"I'm so proud of you Phina", he said in her direction with a sincere smile and put a hand on her shoulder.

"If something is wrong, just call me", he added and she nodded slightly in his direction.

We agreed on the idea that Seraphina would stay with me first.
I was very happy with this idea, until my Father had the Idea of letting her stay in the guest room!

I wanted her with me, but my father felt that she also needed some privacy and that's why she should have an extra room.

Seraphina seemed happy with the idea, which only made me angrier.
I had to make it very clear to her who owned her and that there was no way she could escape from me.

It didn't take long for her things to arrive in the guest room and our fathers said goodbye.

The door slammed shut and my eyes immediately went to Seraphina.
My seething jealousy from earlier quickly returned, but I decided to hold myself back a little longer to make some sort of game out of it.

With a slight grin on my face, I turned around and immediately went to my room.

POV Seraphina

I looked after Tyler in confusion, trying to sense something through our connection, but nothing.

I decided to go into the small guest room and dug out my father's book, which I absolutely had to read to arm myself better.

I understood my father's explanation that we needed time together, but I wasn't sure if this togetherness was a good idea.
I quickly flipped through a few chapters and stopped at "Counterpart and its importance".

"Particularly when the bond was not fully formed, a Hyde would react extremely aggressively to potential danger regarding its mate.
It's not logic that decides, but instinct."
