I awkwardly got out of the shower, a towel wrapped around my waist. Rick sighed, closing his eyes after motioning for me to get dressed.
He followed me to my room and watched as I got into bed. He grabbed a pillow, throwing it on the floor. I cleared my throat.
"Y-you can... You can sleep up here if you w-want to. It's a big b-bed and I sleep on the part closest t-to the wall" I mumbled.
Rick smiled slightly before nodding and putting the pillow back on the bed. I scooted closer to the wall, like usually, and he laid down, sighing as he put his arm over his eyes.
"I showered before making th-the food, so I won't-"
"It's alright."
I started nodding off to sleep and I felt Rick taking my wrist, examining the burns.
"Oh god, I'm sorry Kid" he mumbled again.
"Rick..."
He quickly dropped my hand. "Hmm?" He asked.
"I-in that... That thing we watched... The clones."
"Yeah?"
"What that Rick said... About y-you cutting yourself when you were younger... Was that true? " I asked awkwardly.
I heard Rick shifting and I opened my eyes to look at him. He turned onto his side, facing me.
" Yes, Morty.. I actually, believe it or not, see a lot of my-myself in you and I know where this takes you, Kid... I don't want you walking that road, Morty. You- You're a good kid... I don't want you to take a turn for the worst. " He explained and he looked so genuine that all my anger disappeared.
I nodded before smiling slightly.
" S-sorry that I didn't wait f-for you, Rick. " I mumbled and Rick let out a breathy chuckle.
"Morty, it was my fault... I shouldn't have ditched you like that... You only did what you thought was right and you did a great job. " Rick said looking around again.
" Thanks, Rick. " I mumbled and he looked at me, sorrow filling his eyes for a moment.
" Are we good now, Morty? "
" Yeah... We're alright Grandpa Rick. " I laughed softly and Rick chuckled along.
"Morty, would you be alright with it if I went on a date wi-"
"Haha, wh-why wouldn't I b-be, Rick? I don't even know the girl" I laughed. Why'd he even ask?
" Oh... Uhm, I thought you might've s-seen... It's uhm, fuck. " Rick muttered, looking serious, with a slight glint in his eyes.
" Heh, who is it, R-Rick? Y-you look so anxious, I could almost swear that y-you were gonna say that it's J-Jessica."
Rick went quiet...Wait... Is it Jessica?
"It's Jessica, Morty... She's all grown u-up here, Morty... All of you finished school l-last year and we really hit it off yesterday..."
"O-oh... Uhm, I - I'm not really fine with it." I gulped, sitting up.
"We hit it off in the previous dimension too, Morty, when I was tiny Rick... we uhmm, fucked there too."
"YOU WANT ME TO FUCKIN KILL YOU, RICK?" I suddenly growled out. Wow, things have been going to shit.
Rick's eyes widened as I pressed down on his throat. He struggled to push me off.
" Woah, Morty, I was joking! " He yelled, rubbing his neck.
" I'd never fuck your whatever she is to you, kid... I thought you'd know that. Don't you trust me? " Rick questioned with a small laugh.
" N-no, Rick... I don't. "
