Tecchou blinked his eyes open, slowly sitting up. He heard some mumbling from the tent next to his. He realised it was Starhunter, and he peeked out to be greeted by sunlight.

"Starhunter? I heard you talking..." The brunette said.

"I'm good..." The answer was uncharacteristically quiet and unconfident for the other, it made Tecchou concerned.

He shook his head and got stood up, heading to the dragons resting on the side of the camp. The boy smiled as five pair of eyes blinked at him. Four big and one smaller dragon all watched him as he got closer. Tecchou loved to greet his drake every morning, and Folly knew this, she unpatiently waited for the headpats in her place. He huffed a laugh as he finally started stroking the creature's neck.

"Hello there!" A person appaeared out of nowhere, making Tecchou jump.

He blinked then realised his face was exposed, but the stranger stood in front of him, smiling. The other was much shorter than him, his green eyes shining mischeviously.

"Ah... no need for formalities, I already know all about you, Tecchou Suehiro of the river. I belive we didnt meet yesterday." The black haired boy said.

"Oh..." Tecchou stopped for a moment.

This guy knew everything about him. He was wore no mask though he had a dragon... can it be...

"Emerald?" He widened his eyes.

"Thats right! I am the almighty strategist of the storm legion!" Emerald smirked.

"But why are you here?" The brunette asked "You usually dont fight on the battlefield, do you?"

"Oh, of course not! I was here to see how you and S...Starhunter work together. And you did an amazing job!" The boy said.

"Really?" Tecchou blinked, "I never got a compliment like this before..."

To that, Emerald laughted and gave a pat on the shoulder for Tecchou. The brunette was in complete shock. He just ended his training half a year ago and he already met most of the people he admired for so long.

"Morning Pinestone." He jumped when he heard Fireknight's voice behind him.

"Ah... Good morning..." Tecchou covered his face, embarassed.

"Oh, dont worry! In camp, you dont need to do the mask thing. Atleast in my camp."

Tecchou looked up to see a boy with ginger hair and blue eyes. Fireknight was shother than he imagined him to be.

"My dear friend wanted to say that you are now part of the team!" Snow'wing walked up to them with an annoyed Starhunter behind. "That rule is age old anyways..."

The other, however, didnt listen and instead looked at the white haired boy. He was embarassed, to say the least, standing behind the taller boy to cover his red face. Tecchou giggled to himself and looked around.

"Now that this is settled... Woo, look at this!" Emerald held an envelope in his hands. "They cant give us new mission beacuse we would be late when the celebration comes! We can amidiedly go home!"

Oh. Tecchou almost forgot that the cristhmas truce is a thing. One year passed quickly. The dragons gave small yelps and Folly jumped in place, almost like they understood the strategist's words.

"We have the best luck on earth!" Snow'wing said to Starhunter.

"The best luck? I am really sure the village looks the same." The other patted the taller's back.

Everyone got their things ready and packed in their saddle case. Tecchou took in a deep breath as he jumped up on his dragon's back. His legs were sore after yesterday's battle, but he was happy to feel the wind again. They flew together for a long time, Emerald leading the way. Then they stopped and exchanged farewells.

Stathunter flew next to him.

"Im looking forward to our next battle together." The brunette said.

"Same. But dont play the hero again or I will make you regret it." Tho the words were harsh, the boy was smiling.

After that, Starhunter joined Snow'wing and turned towards the mountains while the others went their separate ways.
