-Keralis pov-
"Keralis! I just had the best idea!!" Impulse exclaimed, and Keralis was already terrifyed.
"What now?" Keralis responded, knowing he would have to help Impulse with whatever his idea was.
"We should get a cat and give it to Ren for his birthday! He'd love it!"
"Bruh. He's terrifyed of cats."
"Then it could be a prank! Even better!" Impulse replied enthusiastically.
"This is gonna backfire on us..." Keralis grumbled.
Impulse shrugged. "What's the worst that could happen?"
-time skiip-
"Ooh, this one looks like Jellie!" Impulse said, pointing to a cat that didn't even remotely look like Scar's cat.
Keralis ignored him, looking at the small kittens in their cage at the shelter.
"Keralis!!! This one's hairless! Come look at it," Impulse said, and Keralis reluctantly looked over at the cat. It was hairless, like Impulse had said. It's skin was a pale light blue with slightly darker blue stripes. It looks kind of like the ocean.
Then Keralis remembered (the struggle to write that word was embarassing-) about the tsunami warning.
Shit- Wait a minute. This could be good.
"Hey Impulse? I just had an idea. Stay here, I'll be back in about an hour," Keralis said, a plan hatching in his mind.
"Okay! What's your idea?" Impulse questioned.
"You'll see!"
He's such an idiot to think that I'll actually come back for him.
-Impulse pov-
It had been an hour since Keralis had left Impulse at the animal shelter.
Where is he?!? He said he'd be back in an hour-
"Hey, kid! There's a tsunami coming, shouldn't you be heading home?" The cashier said.
"What? There wasn't a warning this morning!" Impulse exclaimed. Did Keralis know about this?
"It came on early. You must've missed it," they said unsympathetically.
"I- my friend took our car. Can I stay here? He should be back soon."
"If he'll be back soon, then it should be safe to wait outside."
"Okay..."
Impulse walked out, taking the orange tabby cat he had picked out for Ren with him. He could hear the raging ocean, and he was starting to regret moving to Florence. His anxiety increased as he saw a wave crash onto the road about twenty feet away.
WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU KERALIS?
A second wave flooded the street, this time even closer. Then something dawned on him.
Keralis isn't coming back. He knew about the tsunami and left me to die.
Impulse had never felt more betrayed in his life. His friend- his best friend didn't care about him. Keralis was just a big fake.
A wave crashed down on Impulse and knocked him over. He tried to regain his balance, but before he could, another giant wave engulfed him. Water flowed into his mouth as he violently trashed around in the water. He attempted to breath, but only water entered his mouth. Impulse could tell that he was going to die as another wave crashed down onto the road.
God, if you exist, please tell Keralis that I fucking hate him.
The last thing he remembered before he passed out was the salty ocean water burning his lungs.
