A Whole New World

chapter 15

I skipped dinner last night, I was hungry but Alpha's cold behavior troubled me and I lost my appetite. I don't know what he wants one moment he is so good to me and the other moment he show me a cold shoulder. It hurts when he does that, I don't know why but he is someone who has an effect on me. I feel things that I have never felt before when he is around me.

I heard a knock on my door and samara entered afterwards.

"Luna I am here to fetch you for breakfast" she smiled at me. I unwillingly followed her but the thought of meeting those little kids made me keep going. I would eat my breakfast and then would spend my time with them.

Today the dinning room was also full with omega's bringing plates of food for all the people. As I look closely I realized mostly the people sitting here are warriors, their mates and Witches. Omega's are the one serving them, I feel a little bad for them. They are treated as maid's.

"I looked at the head table where all the high ranks were seated. Cassandra waved me enthusiastically and I waved back at her lightly as I made my way towards her. I thanked samara once I reached the table, she left with a smile.

"Good morning" I greeted everyone softly as I sat beside Alpha who stiffen at my presence. I didn't glance his way, I don't like his behavior yesterday so I decided I won't talk to him from now on. If he wants to ignore me then I will ignore him too.

"You look so beautiful today, Luna" Cassandra complemented me at which I blushed.

"Thank you" I thanked Cassandra and then the omega who served me.

I started having my breakfast silently only speaking when Cassandra would ask me something. Eleanor was sat beside Alpha today too and was talking to him and I felt undesirable feelings in my heart at that.

"Pharell would you stay with Luna today, I have to go somewhere" Cassandra said to tha Gamma.

"Of course" Pharell said with excitement but then his face went straight when a low growl was heard beside me.

"Alpha don't be too jealous, she is my Luna and your mate, I know my limits" he huffed a little. I was shocked for a moment I don't think he is jealous, jealously requires some sort of feelings and I don't think he had any sort of feelings for me or maybe its because of the mate bond because I can't believe that he likes me.

"I am done" I said and stood up from the chair.

"Bye Cassandra I will meet you later" I said and made my way out of the room. I heard footsteps behind me.

"Hey Luna" it was pharell.

"Yes" I asked.

"Where do you want to go today?" He asked me and I felt like a child who needs a nanny.

"I will be in children's room, you don't have to stay with me all the time. I will be fine" I politely assured him.

"I know but it's Alpha's order to not leave you alone" he said sheepishly, now that I look closely at him he looks young and childish. I sighed.

"How old are you?" I asked him, at that he grinned widely. At that moment he reminded me of Daryl, I miss Daryl the most.

"I am 24" he told me proudly and I giggled a little. He is a year older than me but I can tell its only a number.

"You remind me of someone" I smiled lightly at him.

"Who?" He asked curiously.

"A friend from back home" I breathed out

"Okay then we are friends too, right?" he said wiggling his brows at me.

"Right" I chuckled, we were outside of the children's room. I opened the door and was met with the sight of the children's they all jumped on me as soon as they saw me. I greeted them but my eyes were looking for one specific kid, Adrian.

"He is here Luna" Lola came out of the bathroom with Adrian in her arms and smiled at me. From beside me I heard a low growl from Pharell, I looked back at him to saw him glancing at Lola who was now also watching him with a light blush. I was still trying to comprehend what's happening to them when I heard Pharell growled 'mate' and the next moment he was standing infornt of her.

When I came back to my senses I smiled, they are mates. I immediately rush towards them and took Adrian from her hand to give them some space I stepped back. Adrian start babbling at me as if telling me something but my focus was on them. He took her hand in his and kissed it.

"My mate" he said with a smile. Lola was shying but I can see her happiness on her face.

"Congratulations to both of you" I said and only then did pharell realized that I am also there.

"Thank you Luna, you don't know how happy I am. Werewolves find their wolves when they are 18 which us the age when they can recognize their mates and I started to think that I don't have a mate nut thank God" he smiled widely as he gazed at his mate with adoration.

"Lola's been working here since long then how couldn't you met her I mean.. " I asked a little confused at why they didn't find each other before.

"Because I turned 18 today" she told me and I nodded in realization.

"Let's go" pharell told her.

"Where are you going?"I asked them.

"We have to tell the elders so we can have our mating ceremony tonight" he said.

"Tonight? Isn't mating ceremony like a marriage? Don't you think it's too soon?" I asked a little taken aback by their hastiness.

"No Luna it's normal for us to claim our mates as soon as possible so that everyone can know" he said and then held her hand as they were about to leave. Lola looked at Adrian with a little concern.

"Don't worry I will take care of him, you go" I smiled genuinely at both of them, I am happy for them. She nodded and then they both were off not before saying she will send someone else to take care of Adrian.

As she left I focused my attention on Adrian who looked a little angry at my ignorance.

"I am sorry baby" I cooed at him at which he giggled.

I played with Adrian for an hour or so but their was a nagging feeling in my mind that how my mate doesn't want me, It's the biggest proof that he would never want me. If he did then he would have claimed me by now as Pharell had. He didn't waste a second before claiming her and my mate... I feel a stabbing pain in my heart at the thought of him. Tears pooled in my eyes which I tried hard to keep at bay.
