I felt a shiver go down my spine. What just happened?

It was strange, there was no blood to be found. The power seemed to be normal. And the door was locked. This is some crazy shit and all I wanted was to start again. Never going to happen.

I flinched as my parents walked in.

"Hey, sorry we're late, we would've thought you've be in bed by now," my dad said to us.

"Why do you girls look like you've seen a murderer?" my mother asked, innocently. Maybe we did see a murderer. Maybe they were going to kill us  but saw my parents headlights come up the road. I looked at Mona and Angela to see if I can tell them. They both shook their heads slightly.

"It's nothing mum, we just relised what time it was and thought you were going to be mad," I lied.

"Well normally I should be, it's a school night and it's half nine at night. But without a proper message, you would be wondering what's up," my mum said. It's strange she's being so easy on my now.

"We finally got the thing's we needed but when we checked the time, it was too late to make dinner so we went and got a McDonald's," my dad told us.

"How about I'll make you girls a hot chocolate to make you feel sleepy," my mum suggested.

"No, no, it's fine we're not-" Mona started.

"We would love some, thank you," Angela cut Mona off then whispered, "she makes the best hot chocolates ever."

We got our hot chocolate. It was creamy with the taste of melted dairy chocolate. It warmed me up. I forgot what happened for a few minutes.

My phone woke me up the next morning. I couldn't be arsed to look at it but it could be my mum saying how she lost her panda earings and I'll be killed if I don't answer her.

I turned my phone on. It was 5:36 in the morning. I  was sent an email from school. I opened it.

I re-read the email over and over again to make sure I wasn't hallucinating the message. At first I thought it was a scam, then Mona bursts into my room.

"Did you get the email!?" Mona screamed.

"Yes! But you need to shut up!" I beckoned. Too late. My parents were already in my room.

"What the bloody hell is going on?" my dad asked. They looked fuming.

"School is closed because someone was murdered!" Mona yelled, twice as loud as she told me. My mother's eyes widened in terror.

"Who-who died?" She asked.

"We don't know, I expect we'll find out later," I answerd.
