A young hero, an exalted heiress, a troubled rogue, and a party girl- These are the four members of RWBY, a team brought together and trained for the sole purpose of combating the rampant evils that plague the fantastic world of Remnant. When they began their journey at Beacon Academy, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long sought to become Huntresses. But they soon found themselves facing off against the greatest evil Remnant has even known. This evil is the Mother of All Grimm. The immortal Salem. Since time immemorial, Salem has waged war across Remnant for the sole purpose of ending the world of Remnant and plunging it into eternal darkness. Through many trials and tribulations, the members of Team RWBY along with their allies banded together to combat against Salem and her allies. But throughout their journey, they found their faith and their will constantly being put to the test as they learn the secrets of their world along with losing people close to them. Eventually, their journey took them to the city of Atlas where they had hoped to recruit the help of James Ironwood, leader of the Atlas territory. But paranoia soon turned Ironwood into an enemy as Salem launched an all out assault on Atlas to advance her plans. Knowing that they could not face her, they used the Relic of Creation to create a doorway which would take them to the kingdom of Vacuo through a pocket dimension. Inside the pocket dimension, Team RWBY and their allies escorted refuges through the doorway. Suddenly, an explosive shockwave knocks several refuges as Cinder Fall, Salem's chief enforcer and current Fall Maiden, reveals herself.

Cinder: Your little friend Oscar was right, but the easy part ends here.

Team RWBY were shocked at how Cinder knew about their plans.

Cinder: I knew your plan would be bold, but I never could have predicted all of this... At least, not without a little help from Jinn. I suppose I have all of you to thank for one last lesson. Sometimes, if you want to win, you simply can't do it alone.

It was in that moment that Neopolitan revealed herself. As the battle broke out, Oscar along with Ren and Nora began escorting the refuges to safety. During the fight, Yang tries to go after Cinder, but is ambushed by Neopolitan who lands a powerful slash that was meant for Ruby. Yang was then pushed over the edge and plunges into the abyss. As everyone is horrified by this, Blake desperately attempts to catch her, but she fail to. It wasn't long before Penny joins in. During the course of the fight, Grimm began flooding the pocket dimension.

Ruby: Whatever you wanted...

Ruby looks over her shoulder as she nears the edge of the walkway, before facing Neo again.

Ruby: I hope it was worth it. Ruby spreads her arms wide, offering herself as a target. Neo extends Hush's blade as she prepares to go for the kill. She lunges, but Ruby deliberately falls backward before the blade can hit her; she then uses her Semblance to circle under the path, come up behind Neo and knock her over the edge, disarming her in the process. Ruby tries to catch the Staff, but Cinder launches a fire blast into her back, breaking her Aura and knocking her off the path. Ruby catches onto Neo's ankle, the former hanging from the edge of the path. Cinder grabs the Staff and approaches them. Neo reaches out to her, but Cinder's Grimm arm reaches past, grabbing the Lamp from Neo's belt. Cinder: You should have never threatened me... Neo looks up at her in anger as Cinder kicks Hush over the edge, into the abyss. Cinder's smirk turns to a glare as she looks from Neo to Ruby as she tries to activate her Silver Eyes.

Cinder: And you should have never been born....

Cinder uses the Staff to smash Neo's hand, causing her to lose her grip and fall. Ruby starts to fall with her.

Blake/Penny: RUBY!!!

Penny flies in carrying Blake. Blake is thrown forward as Penny is knocked back by Cinder's fireball. Blake manages to grab Ruby. She uses Gambol Shroud to hook onto the platform. The two try to swing back up, but Cinder launches another fire jet that burns through Gambol Shroud's ribbon. Ruby and Blake fall and disappear into the abyss. Penny looks on, distraught.

Penny: No!

Cinder prepares to attack Penny again, but is struck by Dust rounds. Standing with Weiss soon engages Cinder in an intense battle. Winter arrives to try and turn the tide, only to witness Weiss fall into the abyss. Winter desperately tries to save Weiss, but fails and Weiss plunges into the abyss. In that moment, it seemed that all of Team RWBY had fallen. As they each fell into the abyss, Ruby found herself wrestling with Neo who used her Semblance to alter her form into that of her friends in an attempt to mentally torture her. Eventually, Ruby was able to push Neo off. For a brief moment, she turned to see Yang, Weiss and Blake falling. During all this, fear and panic began to set into Ruby's mind, believing she had failed everyone she cared about. But out of the corner of her eye, a colorful bird could be seen flying towards them. When she blinked, she saw a strange looking man wearing strange and colorful robes. He wielded a scepter and wore a smirk on his face.

???: Team RWBY.

As the members of Team RWBY fell into the abyss, time froze around them. It was at this moment that Yang was able to regain consciousness. Suddenly, an apparition of the Bendu's face appears.

Bendu: Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, Yang Xiao Long. Team RWBY. Huntresses of Remnant. You have been chosen...

Before Team RWBY could say anything, they were teleported off of the pocket dimension and from Remnant into an unknown destination. In that moment, Team RWBY was chosen.
