NEXT STAGE START

The words on the building make me frown.

I shiver a bit when a gush of wind blows through my hair, and I turn to the others.

They all were frowning too.

"What do they mean with 'start'?" I ask.

"I don't know. None of the games have started yet" Arisu answers me.

I look over at Chishiya as he grabs my hand.

"Maybe we still have time." Usagi says.

"Or they forgot to push the big red start button" Chishiya smirks.

I gently nudge him, making him look at me.

"Stop joking around, Chishiya Shuntaro" I tell him, seriousness in my voice.

He raises his hands in defeat and chuckles a bit.

"They didn't even tell us about the rules for this one" Kuina mutters, sitting down on the ground.

She sighs and looks at Chishiya and me.

I sigh too, hearing the rustling of the paper that was drifting around from the wind.

Slowly, I start to frown as I start hearing a low rumbling.

I look at the others.

"What is that sound?" I ask them.

Kuina shrugs and Usagi starts walking towards another building.

"I hear something too" She says.

Slowly, I let go of Chishiya's hand and walk up to her.

I stare into the direction she was looking at.

Then cars start to appear, driving into our direction.

"They're alive. Beach people." Kuina says, standing up from the ground.

The many, different cars slowly come to a stop around us.

I raise my eyebrows when the people start exiting the vehicles and look at us.

Arisu steps in front of me, Usagi following him, and walks towards one of the people exiting the cars.

"What is this? What are you doing here?" He asks them warily.

"We saw the blimps show up" The man says, nodding his head towards the building.

"There are rumors that the next stage is starting." A woman adds.

"Right..." Arisu lets out, turning to look at the building again.

"Here's the thing-" He starts, but gets cut off.

I flinch at the huge explosion as the man Arisu had been talking to was blown away.

"What the-" The words leave my mouth as I don't understand the current situation.

I look over at Chishiya to see him frowning.

But I immediately whip my head back around when I hear another gunshot.

More and more people are shot down.

I take a few steps back, to Kuina and Chishiya.

"A rifle" Chishiya mutters.

Everyone at the scene starts screaming as more and more people are shot.

"Get moving!" Chishiya tells us firmly and we start running.

Kuina grabs my arm to pull me after her, as she was faster than I was.
