I wake up. As usually every day it's adoption day again. I usually feel an excitement inside of me when it came, but every time this happened someone might've got close to adopt me they turned to a little girl. Of course, why would they pick me ? No one will ever love me. The people at the orphanage told me that they left me when I was a baby. "Caroline get ready. Remember it's adoption day today." Said Ms. Gardener. "I know, but no one will ever want me! It's been 12 years! And I'm the only one left here at the orphanage! The other ones have gone. I said. "You never know someone could come for you." She replied back to me. But get ready for the day? I sigh. What could be so special about me that someone would want? If my parents didn't love me then what chance do I have now? I slowly got up. Scanned around the room, before I got up. I had to be put in the attic. It was such a lonely place. It was very dusty, up here. There was a dented mirror. Parts of it got shattered, the window had a crack in it. I looked outside. Another gloomy day, I thought to myself. I finally got dressed, picked out a plain old dress that was tan, and old fashioned. I slowly went downstairs to eat my breakfast. I took small bites every time the food came to my mouth. "Hurry up, Caroline! People will be here any minute." Said Ms. Gardener earnestly. I got up slowly, I went to the kitchen window and looked outside to see if anyone was coming. Ms. Gardener? I said quietly. "Yes, dear." I hesitated for a second. "Does anyone know that it's just me?" I asked. She gave me a look. Yes, I'm afraid so." She answered. I felt tears run into my eyes. I'm never going to be loved. I'm never going to be wanted. I ran to my room as fast as I could. Miss. Gardener didn't stop me. She just watched me. I ran on top of my lumpy bed and started crying. I just had those two things in my head. Then I heard something. I looked outside the window a little anxious. It was a man, he looked around his 20's. I didn't want to go down any more. But it didn't plan out that way. "Caroline, someone is waiting for you." Said Ms. Gardener. I felt my heart beat really fast. I went downstairs. I looked at the man's face, he actually looked around his 30's. He looked tired and grim, he looked like he could be a farmer. But I wasn't sure. "Caroline this is Mr. White." Said Ms. Gardener. "How, do you do sir?" I said shakily. He smiled. He had a nice smile like the smile of dads I saw when I went to a grocery store. I looked at the Dad and wished I had someone like a father. "Hello, Caroline. It's very nice to meet you. I'm good by the way. Why, I'm here is my daughter has wanted a friend, or a sister. But she hasn't been able to have either because she stays at home with her Mother. So today I'm going to bring you home as a birthday present. How would you like that?" He said smiling. I was so happy I couldn't even speak. "Yes I would love to, I exclaimed I'll get my stuff." "I already have it right here." Said Ms. Gardener. I grabbed my suitcase was heading out the door. When Ms. Gardener said. "Caroline, be good. Take care of yourself. And have fun." I smiled "I will. " I glanced back as I headed toward my new home.
