Chapter 2 A New Family

We stopped at a house. "Here we are your new home." Said Mia smiling. I couldn't believe my eyes, it was all I've always wanted. Soon we went inside. Hello said a woman smiling. I said hi. Then Mia said "let's get you to your new room." "Yeah!" I said. We went into the room. It was so nice! I shared a room with Mia. We talked for a while. Until it was lunch. It was the best food I ever had. "Well Caroline let me introduce myself I am Grace White. And this is my husband Henry White." Oh, it's so nice to meet you two. My name is Caroline. Everyone smiled. And I felt right at home. This was all a dream come true. "Oh, said Mia this is our dog Echo." "Hello Echo" I said. We went upstairs with Echo following us. Mia looked up and said its so nice to have a sister. I've wanted one for a long time! I smiled. Later that night when we were about to go to sleep. I heard something upstairs. I looked to try to find Mia. But she wasn't anywhere! So I got up opened the door. And there was a ladder to an attic. I took a big gulp. And started climbing up. Then I saw someone. I was terrified. So charged at the person. And he fell down. It was Mia? "Mia! What are u doing up here?" I whispered. "I thought you were asleep." Said Mia. "That wasn't the question!" I said. "Fine. I came up here, because there's a chest with all these letters and stuff and I want to know what it is. I was about to read a letter when you pushed me to the ground!"Said Mia. "Sorry, I thought you were a stranger. Well can we read the letters?" I said. "Sure, as long as you don't hurt me." Said Mia. "I won't hurt you." I said. "Ok." said Mia. Then She opened a letter. It started.
Dear Derik,
My Father is very upset about me being engaged to you. I want to be with you, but I'm worried that he will do something awful to you. Maybe we should cancel the wedding. I don't know what to do he's never happy anymore I just want to run away.

"That's terrible!" I said. "Why wouldn't her father want her to get married?" Asked Mia. "I don't know." I said. "Maybe there's another letter." Said Mia. "Let's try this one." I said. We opened the letter.
Dear Marie,
If you feel that scared we must get married tonight. I don't care where we would go. I would go anywhere you want to go. Meet me tonight. At 8:00 at the garden. We can get married there.

"What?" I said. "Please tell me she didn't go to see him!" Said Mia. "Let's read the next letter." I said. "Good idea." Said Mia.
Dear Derik,
Yes I would like to see you tonight I must escape somehow without my father knowing. I will meet you tonight.

"She went!" I said. "Yeah, it looks so." Said Mia. "Look! There's pictures! Pictures of the wedding! And 2 babies!"
Dear Derik,
He took me! And the babies. He says that he will put them in separate orphanages. I can't believe he'll do this. I'm going to be heart brokened. I don't want him to take them.

"White! Did your dad have a brother?" I asked. "He must have!"
"But I have to ask him tomorrow. We better go down and get to sleep." Mia said.
We went down the ladder. And went into our rooms, and I laid down. I wonder if that was his brother? And I wonder where the children are now?
