14 - The deal is off

" Are you ready? "
Minho asked softly. Jisung took a deep breath and nodded his head.

Minho held his hand, intertwining their fingers and with the other hand opened the door leading into a private room in the building of Song enterprises.

The song family along with Han couple sat on the large table, waiting anxiously for Minho and Jisung to arrive.

They decided it was best if they talked it out. After the commotion yesterday, Mrs Han did her research on who Lee Minho really was and whether it was true that Song industries is under investigation.
Based on her research she concluded that it was better to strike a deal with the Lee's rather than with Song's. Jisung and Minho liking each other was just a plus point for her.

Everyone in the room settled down. A suffocating atmosphere surrounded the room and Jisung was sitting there anxious.

" Mr. Lee, I would like to apologize for how I acted yesterday. I'm deeply ashamed of not knowing who you are. " Mrs Han said bowing her head and showing her fake sincere smile.

" And me and my husband do not have any objections on your relationship. We are rather happy that Jisung chose someone as handsome and successful as you. " Mrs Han added.

Kangwon snickered from his seat and glared at the Han couple. " Isn't that the same line you said when me and Jisung were set to marry? "

Mrs Han's expression flattered but they were soon replaced with a sickening sweet smile.
" It was before we didn't know that you have an investigation going on for illegal supply of drugs. "

" So what? You think Jisung is an object, some type of jewelry that you'll give to someone who would bring money and fame to you? " Kangwon scoffed again.

" Of course not! Jisung is my little baby. I would never treat him like an object. I just want him to marry who he truly likes. "
This time it was Minho's turn to scoff. " Since when did you care about who Jisung liked? "
Mrs Han stopped and looked at Minho surprised.

" Because as long as I remember, 'End it with that boy. He ain't worth anything. He doesn't even have enough money to save us.' is what you said to him 5 chapters ago. " Minho asked raising his eyebrow. Mrs Han looked at him shocked.
How did he know?

" Hhaha. You must have misunderstood my intention. I didn't know that Jisung like you. "

" How much will you lie? " Everyone in the room turned towards Jisung due to his sudden question, however his eyes were fixed on his mother, anger reflecting brightly.

" What are you- "

" He heard you that day. He didn't leave but was standing outside and he heard everything. How much are you gonna lie and pretend that you love me? Are you even my real mother?
From my childhood till now all i wanted was love and attention from my mother but guess what you were always busy. "

" But Sungie I was earning money to complete your need- "

" No you weren't! Don't lie to me! You were always busy just so that you can satisfy your greed! You never paid attention to me. And I thought that if I marry Kangwon my mom would be happy and would love me. I was so wrong. " Jisung was overwhelmed by emotions, he didn't know if he wanted to curl in a ball and cry or keep venting all those thoughts he kept in his mind.

Minho squeezed his hands under the table looking at his tear filled eyes which threatened to fall any minute now.

" But Sungi- "

" I think that's enough Mrs Han. " Minho spoke up.

" I'll send the investment papers so you don't have to worry about your company going bankrupt. " He said and stood up holding Jisung's hand tightly. He knew Jisung wouldn't be able to hold his tears back anymore.

However Jisung didn't move from his position.
" There is no need. "

Jisung whispered.
" What? "
Minho asked in confusion.

" You don't have to invest in the company. I don't want you to pay my parents just for us to be together. " Jisung said with sincere eyes.

With that final statement Jisung stood up and walked out the door without even glancing on his mother sitting there.

To describe Mrs Han's state was quite difficult as she was shocked, surprised and maybe a tiny bit guilty.

While the Song family sat there enjoying the show. They felt like they weren't meant to see the family drama but decided to stay because who would miss a nice family drama.

" Wow, that was intense. " Kangwon said amused, however no one paid attention to him.
" So the wedding is off I guess? " Kangwon asked not even trying to hide the happiness in his tone.

" It was a pleasure doing business with you but the deal is off. " Mrs Han said determined. She stood up and walked away with Mr Han following her.

" Your son can't even do one thing correctly. " Mr song said to Mrs Song.

" Why are you dragging me into this? " Kangwon said surprised of the sudden attack from him father.

" I told you to deal with the investigation quietly. How the hell did Mr lee know about it? "

" I don't know! But you can't blame me for it. We both know that the Hans only wanted this marriage for money but your hidden intention was to frame them for the illegal supply. "

" Whatever. Now the deal is off so we will have to find someone else. " Mr song said and left the room.

As soon as Minho and Jisung stepped inside Minho's penthouse, Jisung broke down into tears.
He held back all the emotions he felt for all those years but now they were out. He was supposed to feel light but he was filled with heavy guilt instead.

He hated how he talked with his mother. She must hate him now but Jisung knew it was for the best.

Minho embraced him into a hug without caring for his expensive suit being wet due to his tears. Jisung was worth every single thing in the world. A mere thousand dollar suit was just the beginning.
