Thursday 19th September 1990 Will's POV:
I got woken up by my obnoxious alarm rapidly going off. I rolled over and saw that I was 5 minutes late for school, I harshly hit my alarm turning it off then jumping out of my bed running towards my closet pulling out the first things I saw which was a shirt with the words "THE CURE" in bold writing on it, the next thing I grabbed out was some plane jeans. I quickly slipped on my clothes then rushed towards the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair.
Once I was finally done I was now nearly 10 minutes late for school, I quickly picked up my bag that was beside my bed and ran out of my room but quickly stopped when I saw someone sitting on the couch with a bottle in hand while watching the small Tv in the corner of the room. Lonnie
He slowly turned his sweaty body to look my way. "Will? Why aren't you at school?" Lonnie plainly said placing the bottle he was previously holding down on the low, old table that was in front of him and slowly getting up from where he was sat and walking up to me. "I- uh I slept in I'm so so sorry it won't ever happen again" I quickly responded trying not to make him mad. I didn't even know he was going to be home today. "You slept in?" He slowly repeated what I had just said a few seconds prior. I nodded slowly hoping he wasn't mad and I thought I was in the clear because a few seconds later he walked away from me and went into my kitchen but I was very wrong.
I suddenly remembered that I had left my science homework on the desk so I quickly rushed back into my room and searched my desk until I found what I was looking for but once I turned around to place my homework in my bag I felt pain coming from my eye. I looked up to see Lonnie standing right in front of me with pure anger in his eyes.
Then I felt pain in my stomach making me topple over clutching my stomach in pure agonising pain. "Why cant you be more like other kids!!??" He shouted at the top of his lungs kicking my legs with full force making me fall on my knees. Tears threatened to spill but I wouldn't let that happen, Lonnie then started to repeatedly kick me on my back and stomach making me curl up into a ball hiding my face in my knees so he couldn't see that I was now crying like the baby I am. It went on for a few minutes until Lonnie had finally stopped and saying "im going to the bar and go to school before you are even more late then you already are" then finally walking out of my room and leaving the house to get to the bar.
