By Way of Night - A Second Look

I feel the darkness surrounding me, engulfing me in a dark shroud of pain. I feel the air closing in on me, my lungs are begging for release. The voices on the wind speak their wickedness, the laughter of the night it chills my bones, the whispers plummet me down to the dirt.

It is the way of night that is causing my pain. It is the lack of love in my heart that drives me mad. No love is given, for none is received. Only hatred dwells in this darkness surrounding me. Love is so foreign, it seems a false memory meant to taunt and tease. I struggle to feel anything but hate, as the viciousness and malice assaults from every side, I just need a place to hide.

As the last hope begins to fly away, as a gift unlooked for and unexpected, I see a light, only a sliver but it shines brighter than the midday sun. It starts to drench me with its warmth, a warmth that I hadn't dared dream to feel again. A kind and loving hand had in my darkest hour, led me to a place of peace, a safe space if you will. A friend whose love knows no bounds, His forgiveness knows no end.

I heard a new voice, His voice, the voice of love. It was telling me that the darkness was ending, telling me to walk towards the light. The voice said to me that through night I would find light, and never again in darkness would I dwell, the light would shine on me again.

By the way of night I have found light, by way of night I have found love, by way of night I have found God, by way of night I've been called above. A journey to find a purpose, a journey to find the light. A path to walk from darkness, a path to lead me to peace. A mountain, once climbed, the destination in the clouds. It's where my heart will find peace, a place of perfect happiness and joy, a place where darkness cannot touch. By way of night I have found the path to never-ending daylight that bathes a broken soul into healing perfection. By way of night, I have found redemption. It is truly celestial, this journey I'm on.
