Izuku smiled as his daughter Eri stared mystified at the book he was reading to her. It was a story about the origins of Santa Claus.
"Well, as soon as the buildings were built, they settled in and started making toys in earnest. Oh, they needed toys, because, you see, despite everything the Meisterburgers tried, the legend of Kris Kringle...or Claus, as he now was known...just grew and grew. And, as the years went by, animals delivered letters by the thousands." Izuku continued with enthusiasm. "You see, he still had to travel by night because he was considered an outlaw."
"But when did they stop calling him an outlaw, Daddy?" Eri asked.
"Well, as time went by, that changed," Izuku explained, "You see, the Meisterburgers...They kind of died off and fell out of power. And by and by, the good people realized how silly the Meisterburger laws were. Well, everybody had a wonderful laugh and then forgot all about them. Indeed, the he older he got, the more famous he became, and the more folks loved him."
"He's very good, isn't he?" Eri asked.
"Uh-huh; he sure is." Izuku said in agreement.
"Is that why he's called 'Santa Claus'?"
Izuku smiled and kissed her on the forehead. "That's why, honey; that's why."

Hey guys! Sorry that it's been forever since you've heard from me and since I've published a story. These past two years have been a crazy time for me as well as for a lot of people. I've had to have some time to think about my future life choices and making decisions that are good not just for me but for those in my life (i.e., cutting negative aspects out of my life like my dad, losing a sh*t ton of weight [went down from 275 to 210 between March and September] and got a steady part-time job at the local supermarket with taking some certification classes at a nearby community college)
And since I find myself in a better place than I have been these past 2 years, I have an announcement to make

Family Matters will resume sometime in 2023!! I am not sure when the next chapter will be published, but I promise that the next chapter will be published before New Year's Eve of next year.
To all of those who stuck with this story for so long, thank you and again, I deeply apologize for the long wait. I can assure you that you are all in for a treat with what I have in store for this story.
