Chapter 3

The rest of the group got unpacked and all gathered into the family room where you were sound asleep with your head on camila's lap.

"Is she alright?" Asks Bea sitting down on the couch across from you and Camila, Ava taking the seat next to Bea.

"I think so, probably just tired." Camila replies softly, making sure she doesn't wake you up as she plays with your hair softly.

"Yes, well she did loose some blood. That could be another reason she's tired. I'm not sure blood comes back after you heal." Says Jillian as she sits down in one of the chairs.

"What do you recommend she do?" Asks Mother Superion.

"I'm no doctor, but I think she and Michael both need to take It easy over the next day or two. No need for them to overexert themselves. Says Jillian

"I suppose you're right. We need everyone to be ready." She says

You start to stir awake from your sleep. You open your eyes to see Camila looking down on you with a soft smile. You realize your head is still on her lap. You slowly sit up and rub your eyes.

"Sorry." You say softly

"Don't be." She says

"What's the plan from here? We can't keep running and hiding." Says Ava

"Adriel is using his possessed followers prayers to activate the arc. We do not have any further information." says Mother Superion

You watch as Ava is deep in thought before she nods her head. We sit and and talk for a while longer before everyone decides to go to their own rooms for the night.

"Y/n can I talk to you?" Asks Ava

"Of course." You say standing up from the couch and following her outside.

"I saw your halo." She says and you let out s small sigh.

"When did you find out?" You ask

"I saw the glow when your halo recharged and you healed. Mine does the same thing after I've used mine. Bea didn't see anything." She says

"My halo was created when the original was stolen. It was kept a secret for 1,000 years and only to be brought up if Adriel had ever been freed from his tomb." You say

"That glow we saw back at the compound?" She asks and you nod your head

"They were aiming guns at the van, I didn't have a choice." You say

"If they were aiming at us, how did you get shot?" She asks

"The one difference between my halo and yours is that you can phase, I can teleport." You say showing her by teleporting onto the roof and then teleporting back to where you were just standing.

"So you teleported and got shot?" She asks

Blocked the bullets, but I guess they had lousy aim. You say

"Woah so you're like Lilith." She says

"I don't know a Lilith but I suppose so if she can teleport." You say

"She used to be apart of the OCS. She was supposed to be the next halo bearer but they were attacked. The current halo bearer died and the halo was out in me so Adriel's followers didn't get It. She tried to kill me multiple times and she was impaled by a terask, I killed It and she disappeared with It. She came back afterwards but she was different, she changed. She turned on us and helped Adriel. We aren't sure where she is now." She says

"Wow that's crazy." You say while putting your hands in your pockets.

"Does anyone else know about the Halo?" She asks
