Obi-Wan's PoV
Obi-Wan sighed as he made his way through the hallways of the Jedi Temple.
He didn't really have any particular direction in mind, sometimes on rare occasions like these, he simply liked to stroll through the Temple with his head deep in thought.
His thoughts on these rare occasions nowadays mostly revolved around the same topics which were almost always war, recent council meetings, politically related issues, what he should eat later, or troubles with Anakin.
This time around it was a combination of war, council meetings, and Anakin.
Obi-Wan had the uneasy feeling that an important solo mission without Anakin at his side might be soon passed onto him by the Council, why he felt that way he didn't particularly know.
It was just a feeling in the Force, a kind of pre-knowing he had.
Yet neither Master Yoda nor Master Windu had approached him until now to pass over any kind of orders going in that kind of direction and so he wondered if maybe he was just having an overactive mind or a mild case of paranoia lately.
Normally, he didn't have anything against important missions, taking care of the important matters to the best of his abilities regarding the wants of the Council diligently, yet this time around the thought of going on a mission all by himself left him rather ... empty.
A tiny, treacherous thought in the back of his head supplied that the actual problem might lie in the fact of the recent events that had Anakin suddenly becoming a member of the High Council at only the rank of a Jedi Knight out of the blue, leaving him with no time to get used to the idea of all the changes, Anakin's new position might mean for them both, Obi-Wan being so accustomed to going onto shared missions together.
Now that he really thought about it, the more than suddenly granted seat on the Jedi High Council was really suspiciously odd, seeing as the Council had never given into Anakin's nagging to be let onto the High Council, for lack of better words, before.
So something definitely was in the makings, brewing under the surface like the lava of an active volcano before erupting.
Otherwise, it would make no sense, the suddenly granted seat on the Council, after all, he knew how most of the Council normally felt about Anakin.
Most of them, after all, still had their doubts about Anakin becoming a full Jedi Master in the possible future, due to his late entrance into training, his prominent attachment to emotions, his rebellious nature, and some even because of his background of being a former slave boy from the outer rim.
So why now all of a sudden? And just as a Jedi Knight?
Normally, being let onto the High Council entailed a much longer process, it wasn't something that was given out easily, you had to earn it through hard work, as well as appeal to the Council all the while through it.
Not that Anakin didn't work hard but even Obi-Wan couldn't deny that Anakin was far from behaving like the Council saw appropriate.
Anakin always had have a strong head of his own after all and the Council had more than once let them know that they did not appreciate it one bit.
And Obi-Wan knew that view of Anakin by the Council still hadn't changed one bit so that granted seat left him with an unpleasant feeling of worry about its possible meaning.
Not because he wasn't happy for Anakin or didn't grant him the seat he knew Anakin had longed for, maybe he could even go as far as say craved for, for a long time now.
Yet he wondered.
Wondered if Master Yoda have had a Force vision recently or maybe just a feeling in the Force that something big was potentially coming their way.
