It's no surprise when he sees very little of you for the remainder of the week.
After you'd changed in his lab that day, he barely got a word out before you were rushing off. He even chased after you, but the second he'd gotten outside the university, it was like you disappeared. He didn't miss that look you wore. Like you were embarrassed, or ashamed.
That's why he now stood outside your biology class. If you wouldn't come to him, he'd have to find you.
The class dispersed, and he straightened from his spot on the wall, moving closer. You had a book in your hand. Maybe he imagined it, but he swore he saw you sniff the air. Your head shot up, and he could see the panic on your face. The area had pretty much cleared, and the second you tried to take off, Tadashi grabbed your hand gently.
"Please."
He was pleading.
Begging.
"Please don't run away from me."
You pulled your hand away, and Tadashi's eyes fell.
"I'm sorry (Y/N)."
It's obvious that you no longer wanted anything to do with him. But he couldn't just throw away a year of friendship. It was impossible.
Hands tightening on your books, you finally looked at him.
"Why did you come after me?"
He looks almost offended at the question.
"Did you really think I was just going to drop you?"
A part of you believes that is what this is. He's come to say that he no longer wants this friendship. You're not human. That is just something he can't see past.
"It wouldn't be the first time."
The hurt you show is painful to watch. Until recently most things to him could have been proved by science. People turning into wolves, that was strictly for entertainment. But he'd seen it with his own eyes and he still couldn't wrap his head around it.
"I wouldn't blame you Tadashi."
He doesn't believe it. You're reassuring him. Maybe he needs to approach this differently.
"If you believe that I know too much about this secret, then I'll respect your decision. I won't bother you." He can see you doing an evaluation in your head. He takes another step.
"But if our friendship in any way is still intact, then I'd like to be a part of your life. Every part."
He stresses the last two words, and he can see the light return to your beautiful orbs. The ones he'd been able to spot, regardless of your form. You smile, and Tadashi is stunned when you move forward, wrapping your arms around his neck as you hug him tightly. He's still for a few moments, but then he mirrors your joy, holding on.
"Thank you."
It's a whisper, and he lets out a soft sigh.
It was good to have his friend back.
