Chapter 7: Falling into the darkness

As soon as we leaped towards the darkness we both kept falling at a tremendous speed.
Juan is this supposed to happen?!
"Hang in there a bit more, it should happen any moment now!"
As soon as Juan spoke those words the crystal multiplied and lit up.
They expanded and covered my entire scarf.
It formed wings around the scarf stabilizing the fall a bit towards the deep end.
I looked over at Juan and saw the same thing happening to him.
"See I told you it would be alright"
I'll kill you one day.. you could have given me a heads up you know.
Juan winked and said before gliding through the air: "But where's the fun in that"
You....
He swirled through the air as if he was a natural.
You sure know your way with wings.
Juan flew next to me: "You should try it as well"
I can't, I don't know how, don't you see that I can barely hold myself up?
"Spread your arms and let the wind guide you, the wings will only flutter if you are in sync with the wind."
And how do I do that?
"By feeling the airstreams and taking advantage of that"
I suppose I could give it a shot.
I followed Juan's instructions and as soon as I spread my arms, I fell even faster.
JUAN!!!
"SORRY..."
Juan rushed down flying at an incredible speed and caught me.
"I am so sorry are you oke?"
I'll seriously... kill you one day..., I panted whilst grabbing onto his shoulder.
"I guess it is hard to learn."
I punched his arm: You think.... I said sarcastically.

Juan carried me in his arms whilst flying.
"I am sorry I guess I thought you would immediately know how to fly"
Yeah I probably would... in a STORY
"Sorry..."
Seriously what were you thinking...
"I'm sorry"
Still.. thank..k.. you..
Juan looked at me and saw me clutching him.
He looked surprised.
For saving me.. I thought I almost died..
Juan smiled: "I promised you, nothing would happen right."
I smiled: Yeah.

Juan?
"Yes?"
Why are you helping me?
"Because I want to, is that a clear enough answer?"
I clutched him tighter: Yes it is.
*Thoughts*
There is something about Juan I still can't seem to put into perspective. I can feel he has something strong sealed within him.
I can sense a rather bitter and hurtful story that lies underneath all his humor.
Could it be his coping mechanism?
If so.. what made him do this?
Whatever it is, I will find out and when I do I'll make sure to help him just like he is helping me.

Juan, is it oke if I get some shut eye for a while?
Juan nodded: "It will take some time before we reach Shahra, get all the rest you need."
I closed my eyes and drifted into a rather long sleep.

Dream:
I was standing in a room. The room was filled with a dense atmosphere, across from me stood a silhouette that was indulged in a dark red ominous seal.
I took a step forward and saw the silhouette chained up from head to toe.
What... is happening here....
I took one more step forward and felt the red ominous glow from the seal getting stronger. A giant force pushed me back the closer I got to the silhouette.
I took two steps forward slowly but steady I managed to get a bit forward.
The silhouette became a bit more recognisable, it was a man that stood spread.
His hands were chained to the sides as were his feet. His head hanging down.
Who...who are you?
I took a step forward and the seal began emitting a powerful dark red light which emburst.
AAAAH!
It threw me back and made me fall on the ground.
I tried to get up but failed.
My eyes were blurry, I saw dark red lightning strikes coming from the seal.
What...was that...
I tried to get up and that's when I heard a voice coming from the seal.
Voice: "I will never forgive myself... I...am so..so..rry..."
The seal emitted even more darkness and everything turned to black.

I opened my eyes and saw Juan still flying whilst holding me in his arms.
"Ah you're awake, are you alright you look a bit spooked.."
I.. I had a weird dream.
"That is unfortunate, well atleast you're awake now"
I suppose.
"I guess we're closer to Shahra than I expected"
We are?
"Yes, do you see that tiny blue spot over there.
I looked down and saw a tiny sparkling blue spot.
"That is the Shahra river"
I can't believe it... this deep down...
"There is much more"
"This.. this is just the beginning."

*Thoughts
That was such a vivid dream, I clearly feel the soreness of the blast in my dream.. I suppose there is much more than I believe.
That man... the chains and the voice, what am I supposed to make of that...
Is it someone I know? Someone I still need to meet? And why was he sealed away in such an ominous orb...
Why was he chained up, he did sound rather sad... so what did he do to end uo like that..

"Are you sure you're fine?"
"You seem a bit absend minded"
I am oke.. just a bit tired I believe.
"Alright than, we're almost at landing distance"
Landing distance?
"I can't just come to a sudden immediate stop, that will harm the noth of us. "
That actually makes sense.
"I'm glad it does, I'll have to adjust the speed."
"It may be a bit turbulent in the beginning but hang on tight, it will be better after a few seconds."
"I'm going to start slowing down are you ready?"
I am.
Juan adjusted his speed and as he did the wind blew very strongly.
I felt myself grabbing onto Juan real tight whilst burying my head against his chest.
"Don't worry it's almost over"
I felt myself blushing, Juan's chest was warm and I could hear his heart beating.
I closed my eyes and leaned against his chest.
As soon as I did I felt Juan tensing up.
Juan..?
"It's oke sorry I was a bit startled"
I leaned against him and closed my eyes.
"Look you can see the river now clearly"
I looked down and saw a gigantic mesmerizing blue river.

Shahra sure is beautiful.
Juan smiled: "it's time, we have finally arrived"
"Welcome to Shahra"
