Your POV
It took us a few months for us to get everything worked out, but we were officially living in Japan. On the plane, my parents and I had to make sure to study up on the japanese culture and language as much as we can. It was hard to remember everything, but I think we got the hang of things.
Then there was our new house. It was a lot bigger than our house back in America. And in here, it was fine for us to speak in our american language. But when we're out and about, we have to speak Japanese as we don't want to stand out.
"Well, son, what do you think of our new home?" My mom asked.
"It's okay, but... I missed our old home, though." I replied before letting out on a sigh.
My mom gently placed her hand on my shoulder.
"I know you want to go home and see your friends again, but this is a great opportunity for your father, so we should be happy for him, and this is a good chance to learn what life is like in Japan, too." My mom said.
"Yeah, maybe you're right."
"Now then, why don't you go check out your bedroom, and in a little bit, we're gonna go check out the city so we can get a good idea on where everything is."
"Yeah, okay." I said before going upstairs to my new bedroom.

Location - (L/N) Residence, Dining Room
We've been living here for about a few weeks now, and I can say that I am starting to get used to everything. My Japanese might be a little weak, but thanks to my dad, I am starting to get better, and I am starting to feel more confident with talking to someone in Japanese.
For the time being, while my dad is at work and making sure we have everything we need to keep a roof over our heads, mom decided it would be a good idea to homeschool me for a few months.
Today is now a brand new day, and I was feeling eager to go outside and interact with someone. So after putting on my regular outfit, and I began to head downstairs and I see my mom in the kitchen.
"Morning mom!" I said.
"Morning son. You seem bright and cheerful today."
"Yeah, I am! Today is the day I am going to interact with someone while speaking Japanese." I said.
My mom was surprised by what I was going to do today. However, I can tell that she was happy for me. She has been wanting me to do that ever since we first started exploring the city, and the fact that I am finally doing it just made her day already.
"Well, that's good to know." She said. "Do you think you can do it?"
"Yeah. I had a lot of practice, and I am sure I can do it!"
"In that case, best of luck to you!"
I nodded as I made my way towards the front door, and put my shoes on. After that, I was out the door. I can proudly say that my new life in Japan has officially begun.
