"Do you know who is going to teach us physics?" I asked nervously.

"Ms. Kate, probably. Don't worry, I'm here for you," Lily tried to assure me but still, I was nervous. Lily was my friend, we had a lot in common, we got along well. I was finally happy that at least this year I made friends. Lily was tall about my height, she had brown eyes and very long black hair.

"Yes, everything will be okay."

"Although, I hope no incidents will happen this year."

She gave me the you-know-what-I'm-talking-about look. I understood. Some people from my class didn't behave well last year, so two of my favorite teachers who helped me a lot resigned from teaching our class.

"Anyway, the bell will ring any minute, what do we have first?" I asked, looking at my watch to check the time.

Lily and I were standing in the front of the school, waiting for the bell to ring with the rest of the class. As usual, we were standing separately, away from the class.

"Science, I think."

"Well, that's not so bad."

"Let's hope," she said looking at me. We both knew damn well that it wasn't going to be good but we still hoped because as long as we had each other, we were happy.

The bell rang and we all went inside.

I looked at the time table to see what the fourth period was. Three periods had already passed, so far everything was going well. It was geography. The break was finally over and suddenly Zara, a girl from my class came in screaming.

"He's coming! He's coming everyone stand up! Quick everyone! Make sure we leave a first good impression!"

"What? Who he? Isn't our geography teacher Miss Jane?" I asked.

"Not anymore," she said.

"What do you mean?"

"You'll see," she said as she ran to her seat.

Suddenly the door opened a young man stepped in and with a squeaking door noise, he closed it. He was of average height; he had a dark skin tone, chocolate eyes, dark hair. Everyone was silent. Nobody moved but all of a sudden everyone cheered. I don't know why, but I'm guessing it was the fact that Miss Jane had left school and they were happy because she was very strict. Honestly, the strictness didn't bother me that much, as a matter fact it was a good thing, not that I enjoyed Miss Jane's class but it looks like it bothered the rest of the class.

He looked very calm, he walked quietly to the teacher's table right in front where Lily and I sat and said.

"Hello everyone, please sit down." He also sat and asked us for a pen. We gave him a pen and he started to fill the blank page of the record book quickly.

He then closed the record book after filling it and said.

"I'm your new geography teacher; you can call me Mr. Lucas. If you need anything, just ask me. And even if you have any questions that don't involve geography, you can come to me. As for my subject, have a notebook and your geography textbook for my classes. This year is going to be very interesting."

Well, this was something out of the blue.

He continued, "I'm going to dictate the lessons every day and you will write it in your notebooks and study it, simple as that."

That sentence was only for Lily and me because looking at my class it looked like nobody was going to do that.

"I hope that is clear to everyone. Any questions?" He paused, looked at everyone then continued, "Open your books to the first lesson and we shall begin.. hmm..the continents....let's see."

As I flipped the pages, I began to wonder what this year was going to be like.

Little did I know that day was going to change my life forever because I had met one someone whose impact on my life was going to be incredible.

The last bell rang. We came out of school, I said goodbye to Lily and I walked home. I reached home quite satisfied with my first day.
