"Can you remind me once again, why are we doing this?"

The sound of a conversation could be heard coming from one of the rooms.

"Oh quit acting like a child Dottore, we discussed that already"

"And I still don't understand it. I don't need an assistant. If I wanted someone to help me I'd just command my clones to do so."

"I understand that you are not pleased with this decision, but let me remind you that it wasn't mine to make. Now stop complaining and sign those, or should I punish you for disobeying her Majesty's will"

A grumpy sigh echoed in the dark corridors of the cold palace. After that the place fell silent, only a soft scratch of a pen could be heard.

Soon the depressing, yet so comforting, silence was broken by a scream.

"Guard!"

My whole body tensed. I knew I didn't have to worry as both of the harbingers, most likely knew that their conversation could be heard in the corridor, but just a thought of a punishment I could get for eavesdropping filled me with fear.

I began to walk.

All I could hear were my heavy boots colliding with the floor, as I stepped closer to the room.

When I arrived I saw two men, both looking rather busy. One of them was sitting at the desk, writing something aggressively, while the other stood beside him browsing some documents with a stoic expression.

"Here"

The calmer harbinger looked up and handed me an envelope.

"Take this letter to the post. Make sure they'll send it quickly, it's rather important"

"Yes sir!"

I bowed, and quickly left, heading straight to my destination.
