TWENTY ONE

"Lucy?" Nastu called out worried as she seemed to be struggling.

Lucy gasped as he heard his voice. 'He's worried?' Lucy felt something stir in her as memories seem to surface.

Her head seems to hurt even more as emotions she haven't felt in years surfaced. 'What's happening?!'

Zeref growled as he felt his hold on Lucy weakening every time he spoke. Fed up he sent a blast of darkness towards him before simultaneously trying to get hold of Lucy's soul.

The team yelled out in surprise as an attack from Zeref collided with Natsu sending him against the cave walls.

"Nastu!" Gray called out his gaze shifting from him towards Zeref who had a dark look over his face and seemed to be concentrated. 'Why would he of all people attack Nastu?'

He followed his concentrating gaze and it landed on Lucy holding her head seeming in pain. Gray's eyes widened in realization before she seemed to get back to normal.

"Go Lucy, do not hesitate." Zeref commanded. Lucy responded instantly feeling as if she was in a daze before opening the bottle pouring the contents into the awaiting container just as the eclipse became whole.

"NO!" Everyone shouted and went towards her but were too late before they were struck in the darkness.

The door glowed an eerie dark color before the cave began to shake. It shook for a while before a dark light began streaming through as the door began to slowly open with an ear piercing screech that seemed to go on forever as light came back into the cave.

The eclipse was over but the door was open. They had one more chance to stop them before they released acnologia.

"Daemon" Zeref called out to the fidgeting wolf who stared at Lucy in worry. "Yes master" He got out through gritted teeth before transforming to his wolf form charging at the group.

The commands were clear. 'Keep them busy.' Daemon growled as he concentrated before two perfect copies of him appeared on each side of him.

They both growled a threatening growl alerting the team. "Oh no" Erza whispered her gaze moving from the triple Daemons to Zeref and Lucy who went through the door.

"Oh for Pete sake, you five go with after them along with Nastu, the rest of us will hold him off." Laxus grumbled gesturing towards Gray, Erza, Wendy, Yukino and Gajeel.

They nodded in agreement before Gray threw Nastu over his shoulders. The five of them cautiously moved along the outline of the cave towards the door.

One of the wolves to Daemon's right growled and launched at them. "Oh no you don't." Laxus called on his lightning before directing it towards the wolf who was airborne as he launched at the five.

It whimpered as it was struck before he was sent on the other side of the cave. This sent a chain reaction as the other two began attacking. "Go!" Cana shouted at them before the five booked it to the door followed by their exceeds.

 "Please help Lucy." Lisanna collapsed from where she was left by Zeref feeling her strength leave her.

Wendy shivered as she crossed the doorway. She almost choked at the amount of dark energy in here. The air never felt so polluted.

Everyone gasped as they came to another opening. At the end of the cave was a giant diamond prison and in it was a black dragon that was oozing of dark aura.

"Acnologia"

"Beautiful isn't it?" They all jumped their gaze snapping towards Zeref who had a seemingly dazed Lucy next to him. "But I think it will be even more beautiful if he wasn't stuck in that prison." He scowled while Lucy just blinked seemingly uncaring.
