Gavin was down the hall by the time the other guys caught up and he was shoved into the wall hard as they were walking by. All of his stuff clattered to the floor and he winced when pain shot through his body from the impact.

"You don't stand a chance loser. If she was gonna do a student it wouldn't be someone like you" The jock snaps.

Gavin winces a bit.

"I don't even like girls" Gavin replies with a frown.

"Freak" The guy states pushing him again before they walk off laughing.

Gavin bends to collect his stuff unhappily and in a bit of pain.

To his surprise someone had started to assist. It was the teacher from his last class. He offered a weak smile a bit embarrassed a teacher had seen him go down.

"Thank you" Gavin says softly.

"Of course Gavin, Those boys are just big bullies. Don't let them get to you" She assures in a kind tone.

He smiles sheepishly and accepts the stuff she offers that she picked up for him.

"Yeah, I'm kinda use to it" He admits.

She frowns a little.
"You seem like a sweet kid Gavin. Maybe you should join a club and make some friends? I know I'm new here, but you could join my after school group if you wanted" She offers with her head tilted a little.

Gavin blushes a bit at the offer. He wasnt to good at making friends because most people didn't understand him.

"I've never really joined anything before. I'm not sure how good I would do" He admits.

"Nonesense, You're into reading arent you? Itd a book club. I really think you would enjoy it. Please at least think about it?" She asks pushing a bit.

Gavin nods sheepishly hugging his stuff to his stomach.
"I-I'll think about it" He promises.

She smiles "Perfect. Off you go to class then" She reminds.

Gavin nods and rushes off to his next class a bit flustered by everything that happened. He slips into his seat in his next class and texts his mom about the boom club idea.

Of course she replies asap. She usually did even if she was working.

"It sounds like a really good idea Gavin. I think you should at least give it a trial run. Couldnt hurt now could it?" She responds.

She is using her motherly tools against him.

He sighs a little.
"Ill check it out after school. Pick me up at 6 instead?" He returns.

"Ill be there sweet boy. Have a good rest of the day 💙"

He smiles weakly at his phone and taps his pencil against the desk.

Book club.. Couldn't be that bad right? All they would do is read? Maybe talk about the books.. Didn't mean he had to talk did it? Maybr he could fade into the back and just listen instead? Hm.. He wondered if he could get away with that.. He really hoped that he could.
