Day and I took down Richard and his business. Day gathered a lot of information, so much that they were prosecuted instantly and severely. That made us both dead happy and proud- for about ten minutes. We both knew what would become of the prostitutes. They had escaped from this fate but most of them would end up back on the streets and back to prostitution most likely.
They had no life ahead of them, not really, and Day and I could do nothing about it.
We didn't see Uruha until four days later. We were both very busy, as always. We didn't exactly have a schedule but most Hunters worked at night, everyone else at the Den worked in the day.
On the fifth day it really was a day. Me, Day and Blood had just come back from our individual duties, we'd met up in the park and hung around in the woods before coming back to the Den. We had less and less time to just hang out these days so we took advantage of each second.
Day had been guarding a Stalker. Blood had been busy taking down some trigger-happy drug dealers. And I'd been guarding six Guardians with only three other Hunters from another Den.
We had nothing to do after that (well there were alwayssomething needing doing) but nothing we could be bothered doing at that moment. We went inside the Den, Day heading straight for the kitchen, Blood crashing on the sofa flicking on the T.V. Day came in with a box of pizza and three cans of coke. Blood reached over and plucked a slice out of the box. Day took the opportunity to grab the remote from her.
I took a piece of pizza while Blood threatened Day with a knife and headed for the back rooms.
"Where ya going?" Day asked.
"To see Uruha. Want to come?" He looked uncertain for a second, "up to you."
He shrugged. "you see him first and I'll find him later."
"Sure."
"Ooh! The new boy? Can I come? I heard he's gorgeous, I really want to see him." Blood asked exited.
I rolled my eyes at her. We hadn't told anyone about Uruha, none of us had to tell about our past if we didn't want to and no one was allowed to force you, so everyone involved had kept Uruha's past life a secret.
"Go see a Healer, Blood. I mean it." I ordered.
"But Shadow! It's only a graze-" she complained. Actually it was a little more than a graze. One of the bullets had hit the edge of her arm. "Day, make sure she goes."
As I went up the stairs wandering where Uruha might be I found Hope. "Hope, where's Uruha staying?"
She looked confused for a moment. "Oh Light!" Light? "Third room across from Loki. But you won't find him there. He's in the training hall with Night."
I raised an eyebrow, "Training? Already?"
Hope shrugged and it looked as if she wasn't too happy about the idea either. I went back down the stairs to the training hall. Night had been my trainer and Day's guardian. He was one of the best older Hunters, he'd trained countless other Hunters and Stalkers alike but had only been guardian to three of us and all three had become Hunters. That's one of the things he was famous for.
The first two he'd had died on duty, he never wanted to be a guardian again but then the Elders had given him Day, as soon as he'd looked at the little five year old he couldn't resist. Day was his pride and joy and he told us one time that he'd been the only thing that could brighten up his day, that's why he'd named him Day. Well it was better than something like Happy or Joy.
