The next three day Uruha didn't speak to anyone, he didn't eat and he wouldn't rest. He trained then locked himself in his room. He didn't go to the counselling Hope kept pushing everyone into. On the fourth day, it was actually night by the time I saw him again, on my way back from a hunt. He greeted me politely but wouldn't meet my eyes, he wouldn't meet anyone's eyes. I glared at him but he stayed resigned and stoic, somehow I thought this must be how he'd lived every day at that big mansion.

His attitude made me angry. "So your still here then?" I said coolly. He looked up, startled but then bowed his head again and nodded.

   "You plan on staying?"

He nodded. "I've been training and learning about how you live. I want to stay here."

I blinked at him. "You think you're tough enough to hack it out here?"

"Night says I'm exceptionally accurate. He's training me to be a Hunter or Seeker but I want to be a Hunter like you." He finally looked at me, resolve in his eyes.

I nodded thoughtfully but I wasn't convinced. "And who's pack were you thinking of joining?"

"Loki said I could join his..." He looked embarrassed suddenly. "But I want to be in your pack! Uh... if you want me that is..."

I crossed my arms and walked around him, assessing him. He stood perfectly still, like a deer trapped by a tiger.

"Hmm, yes I want you." He looked so happy so suddenly I thought he was going to faint. "But everyone in my pack has to pass initiation."

He nodded eagerly. "Of course. I'll do anything." He said determinedly.

"Good. Go to Day's room at 2:00"

I went straight to my room and locked myself in as I usually did. I showered, locking and dead-bolting the bathroom door too. I had just finished changing when a rhythmic rap hit the door.

I replied with my customary, "Get lost."

Day laughed, "fine. I'll give this present to Kitty then..."

I flipped off the bed and unlocked the door. Sliding the dead-bolts back I peaked my head through and held out a hand.

Day held the black carry bag over his head. "Nu uh, you know the rules."

I growled at him and turned away. "I don't want your present."

He followed me in. "Come one. At least eat something. You must be starving."

He invaded my room and threw open the curtains and window. I hissed as the moon light flooded in, burning my eyes. He shut one side of the curtain.

"I'm sorry baby, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you." Only Day could live through calling me such pathetic endearments.

He came over, tugged the towel out of my hands and dried my hair carefully. "It's too long, I'm gonna cut it." I said to change the subject.

"Don't you dare. If you cut yours I'm gonna grow mines long, like ridiculously long. And put in dread locks."

While he talked and busied himself with my hair I inched my hand towards the black bag. But he knew me too well. He pulled it away.

"I don't think so. I've learnt from past experiences, I know all your tricks. Please come out." He said.

"Can't you just bring food up like you normally do."
