The next morning you woke up in your own bed and the knowledge that one of them carried you to your room was enough to make you forget entirely about your bad date attempt.
Since you were in such a good mood you decided today you were just going to relax in your pj's all day. You got up and washed your face and brushed your teeth before heading to the kitchen.
Your sock-clad feet strode into the kitchen with an extra prep in your step and Sam was the first to pipe up about your mood
"Hey! Look at you! Good date?" You cringed inside but didn't let it affect your mood, the ghost of a feeling of someone brushing their fingers through your hair kept the smile bright on your face.
"Nope!" Sam gave you a questioning look but you ignored it
You barely even realized you hadn't moved from the entrance of the kitchen until Nat walked in and Tony snapped his head up and started spouting words at the two of you.
"Neither of you move or so help me-" You furrowed your brows in confusion
"What?..."
A slow smirk spread onto his face as he gestured upwards, you hesitantly followed his gaze and much to your delightful horror saw the object of his excitement. Your heart leaped
"Tony-"
"Nope it's a Christmas rule you have to do it" He cut you off
Your gaze drifted over to Nat who had an easy-going smile on her face, she shrugged as if to say "I don't mind" and shifted a little. A sign that there was clearly some other emotion going on in her head.
"She's in a relationship" You tried to argue, turning to Tony and missing the frown that graced Nat's face for a split second. Tony didn't give in, however, and it was obvious you two weren't getting away from this anytime soon. It wasn't that you didn't want to kiss Nat, because you really really did but you were more scared of ruining your friendship and pissing off Wanda.
You turned towards Nat, trying to figure out a way to get out of this when an idea popped into your head. You smiled and turned to Stark "Alright Stark since it's a rule"
You hesitantly leaned forwards, your breathing becoming heavier and your heart beating faster. Your brain was still fuzzy with delight from last night but this cleared your mind instantly. God you loved and hated Christmas traditions.
Inches away from Nat's face you started into her emerald eyes, her pupils were unusually dilated but it was early in the morning. You felt her hands ghost on each side of your waist like she was waiting for the chance to pull you closer.
Just before your lips could touch you moved your head to the side of her face, and kissed her cheek instead. You pulled back giggling to yourself at your genius and smirked at Tony
"Nobody ever said where the kiss had to be"
Nat stood there unmoving, her breathing harder than normal and her hands hovering over where your hips had been. You looked over to her and observed her flushed cheeks, as she stared somewhat unfocusedly.
"Nat?" You tilted your head a little as the smile returned to your face "you okay?"
She blinked, her eyes shifting from your lips back to your eyes before straightening her back and clearing her throat
"Yeah sorry, caught me off guard" She admitted, the red blush becoming more prominent on her cheeks
Sam and Tony's jaws dropped at her words, someone actually caught her off guard?
