I ran into my room. "No. This can't be happening. He's fine. Brianna is just messing with me, that's all. Yea, that's right, to prove it I'm going to call him and he will answer. For sure he will, he loves me......."

I reached for the phone and dialed his number. "He's gonna answer, I just know he will..." I pressed the call button. 'He has too' I thought to myself'.

....*ring*....*ring*....*ring*....*ring*....

I started to feel doubt.

....*ring*....

It went to voicemail.

*voicemail: "David Evert" is not available at this moment please try again or leave a message after the beep*

I dropped the phone. "It can't be. No it can't be..." I felt my body start to shake and my hear dropped.

I broke down in tears. "It's true......why......why would God do this to us.......why?" I said.

I could not bare this anymore. Why would he leave us like this. He can't.

As I layed down on my bed. I sniffled and curled up into a ball.  If it's true. What's gonna happen to us? I could not bare it any longer, I had just cried myself to sleep.

~next morning

"Hey... Wake up." Bri said, pushing my shoulder, rocking me back and forth to disturb my slumber.l. "Leave me alone." I moaned.

"Get yo lazy ass up. We're going to see dad." As soon as she said those words I shot up immediately and said              " Dad?!"

"Yes, dad, who else, now get up." She stated.

I quickly got up as Brianna had left my room and swiftly started getting changed. I grabbed everything that I thought I would need for the ride up.

I don't know if I can handle this.

We emerged onto the 337 train to W. Trenton Ave. It had been two hours since we left our home and eventually arrived to the last stop of our journey.

It was a fifteen minute walk from the station stop to the hospital. We lugged ourselves to the hospital after the everlasting train ride. When we finally reached the hospital my father was in, the entrance had a enormous construction taking place. About 23 men working, driving tractors, and drilling in nails in the zone. And to our right was a sign that had a picture of the finished project would happen to look like. "Doesnt seem like anything is changing." Bri pointed out. " Well, it's definitely expanded" I replied. She ignore my response and followed signs on the broken and dirty pathway to the hospital.

We went up to the front desk.
"What room is David Evert in? Please?" Bri asked the lady at the front desk. "David Every?" She asked questionably. "Yes. He is our father, we had gotten word that he has gotten into a collision with another trailer. And was transported her on a helicopter." "Ah yes. Miracle man. I was just told about his story during my lunch. I believe he's on the fourth floor, in the ICU. I don't know his room number because with all the equipment, it takes up alotta space girls."

We walked down the hall towards the elevators.

Passing the food court, where you could see doctors, nurses, and other family members collecting a meal. So joyful in their conversations, their smiles distract me from the sorrow that enveloped the building. Lost ones, ones fighting to live, and one recovering, all of it just brings pity to my heart. "Opf!" I had run into my sister. "Oh my God, Amber! Whatchu where you re going! You lost made me drop Charlie." She yelled. "Oh, my bad, I lost my train of thought." "Yeah, better hit the brakes on that thing every once and awhile." She divergently objected. *Ding* I looked up to see the yellowish tint in the arrow.pointing up, as for where the elevator was going to travel. We stepped into the elevator, pushed the number 4 on the button pad, and patiently waited for the doors to close. A few moments later, they begun to close.
