today is the start of their examination for the second quarter.

y/n felt a little weak than usual; she swore, she could feel her stomach churning for no reason at all, her vision blurring whenever she tried to stand up, and her limbs felt like freshly boiled pasta.

“goodluck, kids!” their mother exclaimed, kissing her children on their cheeks. she had a huge smile plastered on her face, and it seemed like her usual energy came back. “don’t pressure yourselves too much, i’m always proud of you two!”

“thanks, mom.” y/n replied, hugging her mother warmly. she followed her brother outside, he looked brighter than usual — no matter what was the reason behind it, she didn’t question as she didn’t want to spoil his radiating happiness.

the sun was booming, sitting in front of the cloud like it was greeting all of the people with its warm and energizing rays — it was screaming that this day would be covered with his energy and he was blessing the plants, the people, and everything with it yet y/n seemed to receive none. she felt weak, on the verge of fainting — she wanted to vomit, to sleep but she just couldn’t.

she probably reviewed too much last night.

“let’s head to the convenience store first.” her brother said, smiling.

even with her brows creased, she replied. “alright but make it fast.”

“gotchu!”

she watched as his brother entered the store, it was good to see him this happy. occupying the empty bench outside, she closed her eyes desperately wanting to feel well but her prayer remained unanswered.

“here.” opening her eyes, she saw her brother holding a bottle of vitamin juice.

“oh.”

“i think you reviewed too much last night.” he told her, opening the drink for her. “don’t overwork yourself y’know?”

y/n didn’t reply, instead she just drank the juice in silence.

“ella told me…” her brother started, a low smile forming around his lips. “about her feelings — she said she loves me.”

“oh.” she breathed, “then, are you guys together now?”

“not yet.”

“but i thought you guys loved each other?”

“she said, she wanted to take everything slow.” he explained, his eyes; lovesick. “i’m fine with that, y'know? i never felt this way for anyone — ella’s an exception. many hate her but deep down, i know she’s good. she’s just misunderstood.”

y/n nodded, not really knowing what to reply. it’s surprising for her brother to open up about this kind of thing but he looked really really happy, and as his older sister, she’s all ears to listen even though she’s still clueless about their status (ella and b/n).

“she’s bright and adorable — she’s different when she’s with me and i feel grateful for being able to witness many versions of herself. i knew what she looked like during her lowest, and how happy she looked during her highest — and how caring, genuine, and pretty she is.” he explained even further, the tone of his voice was unknown to y/n. “ella’s great. i love her.”

“i can feel that.”

“this feels surreal; never did i imagine that i would wake up one day and would look forward to spending the rest of my life with someone.” her brother stood up with energy. “thanks for listening, sis. i just can’t help it, feels like i’m about to burst.”
