CHAPTER 12: babysit

"So tell me why I need to babysit the gremlin?"

"None of us are free today except you, and since you practically do nothing. Why not"

"Do I get paid?"

"Yeah sure, how much?"

"200 dollars on the table, now...."

Stapy looked at 8-ball, he just sighed. Took out his wallet and placed 200 dollars on the table.
I grabbed it and placed it in my pocket.

"Great, I'll take care of the gremlin while you two go on your date"

"IT'S NOT A DATE!!"

"Your face say so otherwise"

8-ball laughed, he grabbed the wheelchair and began pushing stapy towards the door. If you didn't know, I suppose to babysit firey Jr.
It's gonna be hell since I have no clue on how to take care of a child.
I turn to look at firey Jr.

"Ok, look here you little shit, I'm gonna have to babysit you since your "parentals figures" can't. And apparently anyone else"

"Great I'm being watched by a evil clone"

"Kid. I'm not a clone, I'm a human being like you"

"So your evil"

"No-"

"YOU'LL NEVER CATCH ME!!"

Just like that, the kid jumped out of his spot and started bolting for the exit. God dammit, I chase after him and managed to grab his hoodie before he could reach the exit, he was really close to escaping.
I held the kid from the hood, his face still having that grumpy look.
He crossed his legs and arms, making him look like he's sitting on air.

"Look brat, your stuck with me until stapy and 8-ball come and pick you up"

I sat him down on the seat. What now? I joined him at the table and we sat in silence, nothing to talk about, nothing to do.
Then I came with an idea, there was an area leafy told me about.

"Hey kid, wanna head to the ruins I heard about"

"What ruins?"

"A temple leafy told me about, I heard you'll get cursed if you grab a cursed artifact, oooh~"

"What are artifacts?"

"A ancient object"

"What does ancient mean?"

"Do you go to school?"

"No......"

"No wonder why you don't know. Ancient means a very very old thing"

"Ohh~ then let's go"

"Then let me pack, I'll pay you to stay still while I get our stuff"

"Cool"

I grabbed the money out of my pocket and handed him a $5 bill, he took it and shoved it in his own pocket.
I stood up and went over to the boutique, I'm pretty sure I saw a backpack here.
After rummaging around for awhile, I soon found it.
I picked it up and went over to the Steakhouse, I went behind the counter where the water bottles were I grabbed four just incase.
I grabbed some snacks I found in the unknown pantry that gelatin never told us about.

I walked back to where firey Jr was. luckily, he was still there. I poked his back and gestured him to follow me, he got up and we walked out of gelatin's steakhouse.

We finally made it to the ruins, I had a little trouble since I didn't know where it was. But another lucky thing happened again cause I found a map, Yay for me.
